Also, new engine cover:
Wow... that's modding. This makes my latest mod look like nothing.
Is that a built in radar dectector?
It appears to be Valentine 1 "Concealed Display" unit...Is that a built in radar dectector?
that's pretty awesome!!!
Was it a PITA to figure out the wiring for the Stack cluster?
I'm planning on doing something similar next year but not with the Stack Cluster
Wow! John,It's the concealed display for a V1; the main unit is hardwired to a location between the two seats, I am waiting for the mugen harness bar for final installation.
very clean look, what would you do about the mileage counter?
Looks good. The unit came with a step by step installation guide, with pictures, from SARD, but the words were all in Japanese (this is the 'Acura' version of the manual), the two connectors are flipped backwards in every diagram (A vs B), and the pin layout of the connectors is different; we ended up using a nsx shop manual and wire tester to trace most of the connections.
If we were Japanese, with a J-spec nsx, perhaps a 1-2 hour procedure; here in the US, working with this puzzle of a installation guide, 5+ hours.
You can send the unit to Stack and have them input the correct mileage, but the fee was rediculous if I remember correctly. Like, I'm sure it was way over $100 and they said it would take a few weeks. The ST8130 includes an odometer, as its a street-legal display. It is set to 0, so I have attached a sticker on the back with my previous mileage (101k), also, I have a picture of the two clusters next to each other, and have no real intention of ever selling the car.
I got my Motec dash and shift light module on friday.....
Unfortunately there is no kit available, so it will be all custom.
So where did you end up mounting the control buttons and did you get the SARD pulse converter to work?
hehehe..what the hell u gonna tell cops?
Sweet man. Glad to see you got everything working. Post more pics of the cluster all fired up later when you get everything buttoned up.
You know what would have been even sweeter.... the Stack with the built in boost gauge. Which one is that, 8130SR? Like $700 more just for the boost option.
