Wow... that's modding. This makes my latest mod look like nothing.
Is that a built in radar dectector?

It's the concealed display for a V1; the main unit is hardwired to a location between the two seats, I am waiting for the mugen harness bar for final installation.

Re: redeaux'...

that's pretty awesome!!!

Was it a PITA to figure out the wiring for the Stack cluster?
I'm planning on doing something similar next year but not with the Stack Cluster

The unit came with a step by step installation guide, with pictures, from SARD, but the words were all in Japanese (this is the 'Acura' version of the manual), the two connectors are flipped backwards in every diagram (A vs B), and the pin layout of the connectors is different; we ended up using a nsx shop manual and wire tester to trace most of the connections.

If we were Japanese, with a J-spec nsx, perhaps a 1-2 hour procedure; here in the US, working with this puzzle of a installation guide, 5+ hours.

Wow... I do have to give credit where credit is due:

Your taste is getting much better IMO.
-'02 front conversion
-Stack system w/V1

Very nice. Can't wait to see it in person.

-now fix your exhaust plumbing!

Wow! John,

Are you for real? That is serious hardcore stuff.

I am even more impressed by your switch from Escort to V1 IMHO. That up the fun factor a lot even if you are within speed limit. Now you can say, haha, I know where you were hiding when you spoted a cop. I always get a kick out of it when my so so vision spoted a cop.

I was there during the installation..man what a wiring job that was. Props to Ramon on the install. Looks way better in person than the pics. Plus that shift light is pimp..

very clean look, what would you do about the mileage counter?

The ST8130 includes an odometer, as its a street-legal display. It is set to 0, so I have attached a sticker on the back with my previous mileage (101k), also, I have a picture of the two clusters next to each other, and have no real intention of ever selling the car.

Nice work. Why set the V1 display diagonally? Was there enough room to do a horizontal fit or did you just think it looked better?

Looks great john.....post some nice pics of it lite up when you can.

Please tell us that you guys kept a details log and diagram of your Stack wiring setup!? That is a sellable commodity that you have on your hands, and you have done a lot of legg work tha most of us can't or won't do. With that info, wouldn't you be able to develop a wiring harness for future conversions?

Looks good.

When I installed my 8130 in my old Integra DC2, the diagrams were pretty much spot on. I did refer back to the Acura electrical manual also, though.

So where did you end up mounting the control buttons and did you get the SARD pulse converter to work?

You can send the unit to Stack and have them input the correct mileage, but the fee was rediculous if I remember correctly. Like, I'm sure it was way over $100 and they said it would take a few weeks.

Dude...just ship your car to team ARTA.

Done!

hehehe..what the hell u gonna tell cops?

I got my Motec dash and shift light module on friday.....

Unfortunately there is no kit available, so it will be all custom.

Shop manual pages 23-122 to 23-125 are a life saver; I just calibrated the cluster today, only items left are to connect the oil temp, oil press, and water temp sensors, and calibrate the fuel tank level.

So where did you end up mounting the control buttons and did you get the SARD pulse converter to work?

I am mounting the buttons on the lower kick panel; the SARD pulse converter seems to be working fine, on the SARD manual it specifies nsx is 1/1 ratio, so all 4 internal dip switches are in the 'off' position. Then inside of the stack the pulse conversion is 2 pulses per rev; the drive wheel diameter is then entered in mm, it seems rather accurate, according to GPS.

Sweet man. Glad to see you got everything working. Post more pics of the cluster all fired up later when you get everything buttoned up.

You know what would have been even sweeter.... the Stack with the built in boost gauge. Which one is that, 8130SR? Like $700 more just for the boost option.

It's the 8110SR; I have a Blitz dual turbo timer/boost gauge retrofitted into my OEM clock, so no need for a duplicate gauge.
