Chris, I guess if you must sell, keeping it in the family is a good idea.
You're right about White! Here is my latest "obsession" car. At least I have a daily driver now (unlike when I had the NSX) so I can keep it clean and reserved for fun stuff only. Suffer much less paranoia too not...
SoS's shift knob looks like a Sola knob to me -- a very high-quality piece. I had a '92 NSX in which I used a spherical Sola and bought the special insert that mated the knob to the shifter thread and clipped to the shift boot from Randy at RM Racing (I already had the knob with a different...
Hey Ben!
Yeah, it's me. Like I said, with no NSX I mostly lurk. Hope everything is going great for you. I've seen pics of Chris' car in Hawaii and it still looks fantastic -- not one of my brighter moves.
Happy Holidays!
What a great thread! I just lurk since I sold my NSX a few years ago (it's in Hawaii now, lucky car) but had to add a comment.
My experience with modding has finally given me this perspective: Fantasy vs Reality. Most mods can be viewed this way: the fantasy of the improvement the mod is...
Interesting discussion...
My comment about not feeling nimble wasn't so much about it not feeling precise or feeling heavy, it was the inability to make a 90 degree turn around a typical corner without having to shift hand positions on the steering wheel. With the S2000, for example, one can...
Thanks for the quick replies. It looks like the slow steering is acknowledged but basically -- unlike with almost every other aspect of the car -- changing it isn't a mod anyone has made.
I appreciate how getting used to it, especially in track situations, makes it a non-issue, but cars with...
My '92 NSX was a great car but one disappointment for me was the slowness of the steering. A recent Autoweek mentioned the same thing, stating it is slower than even their MDX.
Any information about changing the steering ratio, pehaps replacing the NSX steering bits with those of another Acura...
The January Motor Trend, pages 20 and 21 has some of the info we've heard and a couple of new drawings with S2000 cues -- but looks like the previous generation Eclipse. Surely the real thing will be better.
When I had my NSX it was my everyday car. A dream realized, but what a stress in Dallas! Driving 95% of the time in rush hour traffic in 2nd gear @ 25 mph, surrounded by SUVs ready to drive over me any second. Although infrequent, having to drive in rain or downpour was a special "treat"...
