Mine's attached with two bolts hidden under the trunk carpeting, was pretty easy to align with the captive nuts on the bracket when putting it back in.

you might want to grind down the end of the bit, most are rounded off, you'll need a nice sharp end on it... fyi, mine came with an aluminum plug, with a very wide and shallow straight cut... and was worn so much it was useless.. had to resort to a pair of pliers...

as a quick fix until you rip into it, remove the switch next to the front hood latch, and zip tie it so it hangs out of the way, this way the alarm will never arm when you lock the doors.
