Post your most recent picture of your NSX...

Indeed, the 1985 model was the last of the 308s. The 328s are nice, but I like the older look of the 308 interior, personally.

Post your most recent picture of your NSX...

Two recent pictures to share... Spent a lot of 2020 and the first part of 2021 getting the NSX painted... turned out pretty well: Recently bought it a garage mate, 1985 Ferrari 308 QV:

Timing belt, Cam seals and valve adjustment.. Dealership quoted 1900$$

I believe that was the first quote that I got, as well, before they learned that I had the parts already.

    Cedar Ridge Front Compliance Clamps

I recently removed some of these from my car. It seems to have dramatically improved the ride over the crappy Houston roads that I deal with. I didn't seem to hurt performance on track. Totally not on topic, but the OP got their answer and I figured it might be relevant or useful information to...

Timing belt, Cam seals and valve adjustment.. Dealership quoted 1900$$

I just paid $1700 to have the timing belt done, including water pump, valve adjustment, and plugs. I brought all the parts, except for the water pump, plugs, and alternator belt. I was told it was $900 if I had all the parts. Anyhow, just a data point. This was an well known independent shop...

Question for those with Quick Jack - the short block

Assuming your car is not dropped to the ground, you can drive over the QuickJacks. I store them under my car, no problem.

    NT01 shaved tires

Totally agree with this. Love NT01s. Never seen anyone shave them. They're fast down to the cords and love slip angle!

Took it to the track today, fuel dumping out in front of LR tire?

Still dealing with this issue. I haven't really done much until recently. I put a new fuel cap on it and swapped a new PCV valve in (it was stuck open). Took it to the track today and smelled no fumes nor had any fuel leaking. We'll see if it continues to work correctly, I guess.

    Insurance Options

Haggerty and other classic insurers are not always a good choice. If you actually drive the car for fun on a regular basis, they're probably not a real option.

2018 Japanese Super Car Meet III - May 19, 2018 - Bear Creek Park

Sounds like fun. I'll put it on the calendar. Should I bring my NSX, S2K, or SC400 "Scupra"... :)

Took it to the track today, fuel dumping out in front of LR tire?

Following up, I've been out at the track twice since disabling the charcoal canister. So far no fuel leaks. I can definitely hear venting from the tank, though!

Took it to the track today, fuel dumping out in front of LR tire?

Yup, the line from the tank to the canister is disconnected and "open to the world", but thanks for clarifying that for anyone reading the thread. In retrospect, you're probably right that the other lines could have been left alone.

Took it to the track today, fuel dumping out in front of LR tire?

I got the car up on the lift today It's pretty dirty under there and I was hoping to find a "fuel trail" in the muck, but I didn't find any evidence at all. Obviously, that's a pretty major drip, one that I'd expect to make a nice obvious trail in the grime. I pulled the connections off the...

Took it to the track today, fuel dumping out in front of LR tire?

Well, shoot. I've had the car on track plenty of times since then without issue. Today, it started dumping fuel again. It was somewhat warm today, 85F or so. Otherwise, nothing really special about the day. Kinda at a loss as to what the issue could be now.

Is there a preferred brake caliper refinisher/power-coater you use?

I should have been more specific. Goldline quoted me $750 to $800 in July of 2017.

    Help

You need fuel and spark to start. I would start by checking for fuel pressure, since there's an easily accessed port for that. If you don't have fuel pressure, you start checking that system out... fuses, relays, etc. If you do have fuel pressure, you move on to spark. It's all in the workshop...

Is there a preferred brake caliper refinisher/power-coater you use?

They quoted me $750-800 to have mine rebuilt and coated. They also said that was assuming no new pistons were needed.

What gearbox oil do you use with a NSX-R differential?

The NSX-R diff stuff is really just a bit stiffer spring, I believe. I have it in my transmission. I use Red Line MT-85 and it works great on and off track.

    Taking NSX on vacation?

I was pleasantly surprised at how awesome the car was as a highway cruiser when I drove from Houston to Elkhart Lake for NSXPO. I never worried about it in hotel parking lots, but maybe I'm foolish for that.

    NSXPO 2017 Videos

I'm pretty sure with more laps, a stockish NSX would be down in the 2:4Xs pretty easily. 2:50 is a decent goal, though. I believe my "Theoretical Best" was a 2:49.something and that is completely plausible in my mind. As you mentioned, I was definitely over slowing and slowing early/coasting as...

Hey, that's me! I wish I could say my car was just that fast, but the white car was broken down on the next lap :(

Besides the NSX, What Cars Do You Currently Own ?

    I have a '92 NSX and a 2002 S2000. Oh, and a 2008 Rabbit and a 2012 Expedition. Boring.
