Michelin Pilot Sport 4 in 215/40*17

I imagine the handling balance between Cup 2s and PS4s could be a bit odd given the difference in the intended usage of those tyres - but of course finding the same tyre for front and rear tyre sizes on an NSX is quite difficult! The reports you've read about the AD08 probably relate to the...

Michelin Pilot Sport 4 in 215/40*17

I have Pilot Sport 4 on my NSX and also experienced a significant improvement in comfort after fitting them. Before I decided to fit PS4 to my NSX I tried to seek out comparative reviews of the PS4 with other tyres available in that size. The summary seems to be that they're a great street...

NSX Parts Price Increase April 1st

So this seems to have gone a bit quiet . . . From what I've looked at so far, though there have been some parts where there has been a large increase, for most parts the price increase is in line with the single digit percentage increase that you'd see in any other year. So not catastrophic...

NA1 Midrange Torque - OEM Manifolds vs Headers

Thanks guys - really appreciate the input! :D

NA1 Midrange Torque - OEM Manifolds vs Headers

. . . that's a really good point, the torque peak is in completely the wrong place. Don't know how I missed that one! If you draw a straight line between 3000 and 5000rpm then it both looks plausible and suggests headers are the kind of improvement I'd hope for. Perhaps time to reference...

NA1 Midrange Torque - OEM Manifolds vs Headers

Thanks Honcho - fascinating insight! Guess I'll have to have a bit more of a think . . .

NA1 Midrange Torque - OEM Manifolds vs Headers

Hi all, It's always bothered me a little that a Honda VTEC engine should be entirely capable of making 100bhp/litre, but that the 3-litre version in the NA1 doesn't hit that magic number. Replacing the cast-iron OEM exhaust manifold with tubular headers seems to be the best first step to set...

    97-01 Type-S interior trim color?

It's the best kind of internet nerdery  Interesting - cheers for the tip! Unfortunately the old Facebook photos of the mystery car from when it visited VTEC Direct aren't loading, so it seems I've missed the opportunity of taking a look at those photos myself. The idea of it being a...

    97-01 Type-S interior trim color?

I'm going to question the statement about the identity of that specific vehicle, but only because I've developed an unhealthy interest in the Type S - in part because of your build thread! The car tested at the ring in that video is in an odd hybrid spec. It is registered in the UK, it has a...

Door Lock Actuator - Rebuild or Replace?

There is some excellent detective work going on in this thread! For avoidance of doubt, I am after a right-hand door lock for an RHD car, with alarm triggers. The part number that I've seen on the UK diagrams was 72110-SL0-E03. Of the variation in part numbers, it doesn't seem a wild...

Door Lock Actuator - Rebuild or Replace?

Thanks guys, that's excellent information. I'd been worried that eBay unit wouldn't quite be the right answer! Interestingly, Amayama came up with a lower price for that part number than JP-carparts for me just now. It's actually cheaper than some used units I've seen, and for a new unit I'd...

Door Lock Actuator - Rebuild or Replace?

My right side (driver's side in the UK) door lock keeps acting up in the cold weather - after unlocking the car the lock seems to not realise that it has already unlocked, and it just repeatedly clunks away trying to unlock again. Complete replacement door lock/actuator assemblies don't seem to...

Intake VVIS plate, missing two butterflies. Suitable for gutting for a turbo conversion.

My NSX lost two of its VVIS butterflies into the bottom of the intake manifold last year and I replaced the complete VVIS plate assembly. My old VVIS plate assembly is now just taking up space in my garage. I haven't inspected the internal threads on the shafts, but the threads on the screws...

Center console is dead - please help.

I think I saw this car advertised for sale when it was in the UK - it was evident that it was going to need some love and attention, so I'm pleased to see that it's found an owner who will give it that! :) Are you doing the work yourself or with the help of a shop? Kaz has probably fixed every...
