    Caffeine and octane

I went to one of these not too long ago. Brought the NSX and the R8. Here's a fellow NSX owner in rapture with the NSX, and ignoring 3 R8's. My R8 is the red one. Jeff

Great. Nothing like a properly informed insurance company! Looks like this needs further investigation, or at least I'll bring a copy of my policy... Jeff

    NSXPO 2009 Dates and Hotels

Re: Canadian Insurance Cards I called my insurance company, and they said there is no longer any requirement for special Canadian insurance cards. American insurance cards(proof of car insurance) are accepted in Canada. They said my policy does cover me in Canada - but not Mexico by the...

    NSX owners living at Atlanta?

I suggest taking the car to the Audi dealer in Roswell. They have a really good service department, they have bent over backwards to do everything they can when servicing my R8. Much better service than Ellis from all I've heard. Ask for Becky, she's great. It's Nally Audi on Alpharetta...

Hondas new V10 would've won this race!

Makes sense to me, the R8 has the smallest engine of all those cars. It's only a 4.2L V8. Still plenty fast, though. I took mine to Daytona last weekend, and did 160 MPH. My student, David Moore, in his purple NSX, made it to 130. Jeff

I'm trying to figure out who cojones is. Is that like mexican balls kind of cojones or is that cahones?? And you live in a house of italian rice? Hmmm. Would I know you if I saw you? Anyway, no trailer hitch planed for the R8, I had to get a trailer to tow the R8 around, so added a tire...

Interesting update - I brought the R8 into my local Acura dealer where I get my NSX serviced. They know I'm a big NSX enthusiast. They asked me to show the R8 to them when I got it. Almost the entire dealership emptied to look at the car. Basically all the technicians, and tons of other...

Johnnymo - Yes, I agree reliability is an area of concern for me. My NSX has also been a Rock of Gibralter in that area. But recently, I've been getting a lot of reports from Acura owners on problems with their new TXs and RLs and such. And Audi's reliability has been improving. I did buy...

Hmmm. 267 HP vs. 420 HP. 2 wheel drive vs. 4 wheel drive. 255 rear tire width vs. 305. It's not even close.

About $130K And I agree with SilverF16. I want a MR car, not the Aston Martin Vantage knockoff the "new NSX" is apparently going to be. To each his own. If that floats your boat, go for it. Jeff

Passionate cars insprire passionate drivers, eh? Here's some more pictures. Apologies for the quality on some of them, the lighting was bad that day and my camera is not the greatest. This NSX is a 92 with a full Wings West body kit, CF hood, NSX-R suspension, and a ton of other mods. The R8...

That was my experience at VIR recently. Another instructor had a GT3 and we were pretty even. I don't know for sure that our skills were exactly even, I did have to push pretty hard to keep up. He didn't seem to be slouching. Here a video of an instructor in a 997S at Sebring trying to keep...

The filter elements are much smaller, the big box is to hold the pressure from both of the ram air ducts coming in from underneath the blades. Here's a picture of the engine bay with all the trim removed. I'll post some other pix (including a few with the NSX and R8 together) soon.

Thanks, guys. Yeah, the side blades are a tough decision for me. Like the rear wing on the NSX, the side blades on an R8 are the "signature" item for that car. When ordering the car (and they are all built to the owner's spec in Germany and then are shipped over), you get your choice of...

... and got an R8. It's everything that the next NSX should have been. Mid engine, 4 wheel drive, 187MPH, gorgeous looks, and it inspires passion like you can't believe. It beats my beloved (and highly modified) NSX in every possible way - power, handling, braking, accelleration, sound...

My "ticket" came in an email just moments after I ordered it. You print it out and it's got a special barcode thing they will scan when you arrive.
