You're not nuts. But I am not a engineer to that level. Thom is an engineer and has made that specific offset. It is also spelled out in the instructions to install with the offsets in mind. I can ask about the reason. Rich Wong

Hey Nemo, good luck. I got the last set from Jeff a while ago. I actually hesitated to install them due to the size, but after installing them found that they are big enough to see what you need to see.

+1 on the battery cable condition. Try getting a battery terminal cleaner and clean the terminals. You may have some surface corrosion on the terminals. I put the terminal brush on my drill and ran that into the terminals...problem solved. Rich Wong

Nice!! I have a spare alternator if that is the cause, but I don't suspect it. In my case because the car only has 23k miles.

Just an observation...but that seat looks really worn for only 69k miles. Otherwise is it looks clean.
