The ABS light on my 97 Accord came on this morning. I've already called the dealership and made any appointment for Tuesday, I'm just wondering if you guys can suggest anything obvious to check. I've already tried disconnecting and reconnecting the battery to no avail. Interestingly, right...

I can hardly look at those pics, they're too disturbing. I'm so sorry. A bit off-topic, but would it be a good idea to go to the nearby shops, see if anyone saw anything? See if any of them have cameras that might have caught something on tape? Has anyone ever seen that work? Good luck, Nick.

There have been alot of threads lately about losing deposits and sellers withholding them. I guess the moral of the story is to get everything in writing. How much was the deposit, if I may ask? Nick.

I'm assuming you're looking to purchase that car? How many miles did he put in the advertisement? While it might be a clerical error, consider that if you buy it, whenever you get ready to sell you'll have to explain that to the next buyer. Not fun. Take care, Nick.

The term "frame check" confuses me ... I would get the service shop to specifically inspect that area... gaps between body panels, paint drips, poor repairs, whatever. Have you asked for reciepts? Where was it repaired? There are great people from all over the country that read this forum...

Does the seller have pictures of the car with the damage? Posting those might help determine the extent of the problem. I'm assuming you've already given the cash to him, and I believe in more circumstances it truly is "buyer beware." Did you guys sign an agreement or anything like that...

I don't have any more information specifically on that car, but consider this. If the timing belt is five years overdue, what confidence can you have that the oil has been changed correctly and on schedule? Look at this page in the FAQ...

:eek: Absolutely terrible. While it's nothing compared to your story, my Accord was dented twice in my work parking lot. I now park at the very top, hoping it doesn't happen again. What the person did was a crime, without a doubt. Regardless if there's a video, I'd file a police report...

If you check out the FAQ, specifically: http://www.nsxprime.com/FAQ/General/colors/colors.htm ...Japan has had a color similar to that, starting in 97. A 91 wouldn't come from the factory with that color. Nick.
