That is the winning answer. There is no way this car is going to be as reliable as the Gen1 long term. The computers and electronics are so interwoven that if the brake light goes out the car shuts down. That's CAN bus for ya.

Well that is what the modern car has become. It is a computer on wheels like no-one ever imagined. My 2017 XC90 Plugin has so many computers that must talk to the central processor that it makes your head spin. Anytime you change something you must reprogram the control module. Change tire size and update the module, change the battery and update the module, Change the rear brake pads and update the module, add or take something off the car and update the module. When it works, it is seamless, when it doesn't it can be a nightmare. This is what is happening in all cars moving forward. Having said that I do believe we will get through this introductory phase. These systems are very robust given their unique environment and demands. I like the idea of integration even though it seems distant from Keep it Simple philosophy. My Volvo has what a lot of cars have with respect to forward mitigation. The car will brake if the cars in front have slowed down. It will also turn away if a car comes towards it in my lane. It will mitigate and not turn into a ditch if you over compensate by turning the wheel too aggressively. That is a lot of granny stuff. But if you have your family in the car and you are not driving to better your lap time having the car watch out for your safety is a valuable thing. Nvidia makes the autonomous driving computer systems for Audi and Volvo and others. The processors on these card make my fast ass liquid cooled processor based desktop pale in performance. being a numbers nerd this is awesome stuff. Do you have more details (for instance on colors, both exterior and interior)?

There are some question marks around the numbers.

Numbers per market add up to 2297 (1382+456+149+109+201), but total says 2375. Difference is 78. Other markets?

Did they tell for what period the numbers per market apply? End of September 2020? However numbers for US doesn't add up, 1382 vs 1341 (or 1358 if you use 100 for 2020). Could these be production numbers instead of sales numbers?

It would also be awesome to see the numbers per market split per year as well.

There are some colors missing; how about Curva Red (my color), Casino White, Source Silver, Berlina Black, Indy Yellow? Same question on the period for these.

Interior colors such as Red, Saddle, Indigo? Preferable split on full leather / alcantara!

A while back I was informed that the parts program target was 25 years. If you look at the foam packaging parts like the weatherstripping comes in, that packaging was designed to keep the parts in nice shape for that period of time.

Nice that they are now committing to 35 years (OK I don't really believe it but I hope they do).

My car just passed the 4 year mark. I was going to do the extended Warranty but then decided to roll the dice.

My car is likely to get a bit less use as I just agreed on a deal for a 21 Lexus LC 500 convertible (V8 sound and open top driving).

It is a challenging question as to whether or not get an extended warranty. In California the traction battery is good for well over 10 years or 150,000. So that is not an issue. The hybrid portion of the car is covered for an extended period of time as well. So the 3 electric motors and electronic support systems are covered. The only thing not covered under the hybrid extended warranty would be the engine and transmission. The brakes and most all of the electronics, steering system, suspension system, body parts, 12 volt battery, headlights, taillights, etcetera are not covered beyond the original warranty. So paying for an extra 5 years still won't cover appearance stuff. So other than when selling the car the extended warranty may not be much more than an extra level of comfort. It is a difficult choice. Thus far there have been no glaring reasons to purchase. I have another year to think about it. Oh and I forgot that Acura provides an extended powertrain warranty that covers the engine and trans for 6 years or 70k miles. Then add to that the emissions warranty that will vary State by State. In California the emissions warranty is good for 7 years and 70k miles. It really does seem that the NSX is pretty well covered. My Volvo XC90 T8 Plugin does not have as good a warranty as the NSX.

Maybe now they will be able to add the lift and electric folding mirrors that keep the current car out of a sheetload of driveways and garages.

The guy who was in charge of the development program.

After the program flopped (in terms of sales) he got a big promotion.

It was beyond idiocy to not offer a nose lift on the car.

A ton of the typical customer base for these live in condo towers, which usually have sloped garage access and the car just can't get in and out.

The best story I have is an Acura big wig couldn't take one home because of the slope of his driveway.

The car is also very wide. Folks like me have narrow early 1900s garages. I have to get out of the car, fold the mirrors, then get back in to complete parking. Then the similar story of taking the car out.

Hey it helps to practice Yoga.....

If parked correctly, the door will open to the first stop. From there it is relatively easy to guide your head in first followed by your right leg and then your left. You can breath following the process. Piece of cake!
