About to fix a pet-peeve

Finally, I'm about to fix a long-standing pet peeve of mine with this otherwise fine car: the lack of heaters on the external mirrors... I plan to connect the heating elements to the rear defroster circuit.

Anyone ever removed the mirror glass from the mirrors? (without damaging it, obviously!)

MY BAD. I just found it in the service manual.

Are you using a kit for the heater or a heater for another car? I would love to see pics when you are done.

Mark, actually, I found just the heating elements. They went into the mail yesterday so I should have them soon, I hope. I believe they simply apply to the rear of the mirror, and all the wiring will need to be done but it shouldn't be too bad.

Just didn't want to hose up the mirror getting the glass out!

I'll try and post pix of the procedure and it'll sure be nice to not have frost mirrors in the morning!
