Advan Model 5

as good as it gets... ;)

Yokohama's Advan AVS Model 5 wheels are a cast-alloy wheel, offered in 5 x 114.3 bolt pattern on the NSX. They can be acquired in: silver, bronze, gunmetal, chrome. Sizes used by NSX owners include: 17/17, 17/18, 18/18, and 18/19. Included w/ the wheels:

- (4) machine-finish aluminum centercaps w/ hand-polished crystal covering wheel-specific emblem (3-pieces w/ mini hex-tool & mini hex-bolts)
- (4) chrome-plated alloy valve stems & caps
- (4) cold-steel finish 19mm lug extended-sockets
- (4) fitted-cotton wheel covers w/ Yokohama Original Wheel Design logo

I have (F) 17x7 [35mm] & (R) 17x9 [40mm] (same as '02-'05 OEM NSX-T & NSX-R) in gunmetal. I recently weighed them on a bathroom scale, 17.x lbs. & 18.x lbs. respectively.

FYI: 2002-2005 NSX OEM wheels: 17x7 = 17.35lbs. & 17x9 = 20.20lbs.

Purchasing directly from Japan through Macklin Industries, Inc. the waiting time ranges from 4weeks to 8weeks (3weeks for freight to arrive from Japan to US, 1week for customs & domestic shipping... if the particular wheel size/offest/finish is in stock, otherwise the desired wheel is manufactured and awaits next freight departure)

RP-Motorsports/Tom Bell has great prices, so contact him directly...

I ordered the Advan Model 5 in silver from Tom at RP Motorsports for my wide body car. Should be here soon. I like the open wheel design myself.

18x9 (+10) with 255/30 18
19x10 (+19) with 275/30 19

will these (advan) have a lip ?

Not like a deep-dish per'se. The split-spokes overlap the outer-edge ("lip"), like the OEM '02-'05 wheels.

Here...

i thought they were forged?

Cast-alloy wheel. Manufactured by Yokohama AVS, under Fuji Heavy Industry & imported by Macklin Industry.

Weight of my 17x7/17x9 Model 5's w/ center-caps is less than the '02-'05 NSX OEM wheels.

Get the NSX-R offset if you go w/ 17/17 if you want to be flush w/ the fenders, no need for spacers then!

lol this is what you said in my thread

Difference between ADR Kasai rims, and Advan Model 5 rims

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

hmmm... ADR Kasai rims are a knock-off the original Advan Model 5's. They are steel, perhaps an alloy that is cast- not forged. The Advan Model 5's are made by Yokahama and are a forged alloy. I believe the major difference would be the weight and quality. Both look stellar IMHO. I am in the market for a set of gun-metal Advan Model 5's in 17/17 or 17/18.

There are so many redundant Advan Model 5 threads floating around... I stated that they were forged in error (as'per told by a few vendors), and I was corrected by RP-Motorsports/Tom and whiteNSX. Unfortunately I couldn't edit the original posts due to time-limitation for editing...

Model 5: 17x7 = ~17.1lbs.
Model 5: 17x9 = ~17.9lbs.
