AEM versions

Apparently there is an updated version 2 of the AEM ecu which is slightly smaller and is more convenient for wiring the VTEC connnector. Does anyone know if there are any differences in functionality? Will a map from version 1 work the same with version 2 and vice versa? Any other reasons to get version 2 if version 1 is available at a substantially discounted price? Thanks.

I would feel comfortable going with either one. I am still running the older style on my car and plenty of other customer cars. If the price is right, get the old box.

The really nice thing about the new version is the small size that fits better in the factory location and the VTEC plug is built in (no need to pin their old VTEC harness into your engine harness plugs). You will have to run the specific base map for the new box - it is not the same as the old box.
