Anyone ever transformed an automatic into a 5 speed plus RHD? Just curious of process

Was wondering if anyone has done it. Looks like a process that might not be worth it.

I'm buying NSXes to bring back to Southeast Asia; they all need to be RHD.

it can be done but your still going to end up with a 250hp 7000rpm detuned C30 when your done. so what is the point? I would just wait for the right one to come a long and be happy with no regrets.
 
Just import one from Japan. I got a 91 5 speed Red coupe with 80,000kms for 23200000 Yen. Thats cheap even with todays exchange rates.

Choose your day from the top left then model etc, it changes every hour and the day before an auction there are approx 25000 cars up. Some days you will see 10+ NSX's. Even some type r's.

Next step is to find a broker and have them check the car out and bid for you. I can reccommend someone if you want.:smile:

Buy a proper RHD 5spd./6spd. NSX from the U.K. or even Japan & have it shipped to Thailand. They are in abundance there, and more-or-less their values are pegged w/ U.S. values (for earlier NSX models). My cousin in Japan has his own company that exports pre-owned/new Japanese vehicles/etc' to South America, Asia, and Middle East. I can fwd his contact info' if you're serious. . .

Doing the LHD to RHD conversion is a bear of a project, and doing the NA1 4spd. A.T. to NA1 5spd. manual is just silly when the U.K. & Japan market has many available at attractive price-points. . .

Not sure if the U.K. prices include 15% V.A.T., if they do- you can plausibly get that back being a non-resident.

FWIW, whrdnsx did the LHD-to-RHD NSX conversion (posted here).


Point being: don't convert a LHD NSX to a RHD NSX if you don't do this professionally, have done others in the past, and the donor LHD isn't dirt-cheap; and don't convert an automatic-transmission NSX to a manual-transmission (it's just pointless due to the detuned/lower-rev'ing motor & other potential ECU implications). . .
