Anyone who has upgraded with ksp abs wire harness....

Hello,

I am upgrading my ABS system to the 02 style. I am thinking of using the KSP wire harness. I have seen www.rhdjapan.com carries a wire harness called
"ATTAIN KSP" whereas kspweb.jp carries the "KSP" brand harness. They both have the same part number of KS-8566. Is there any difference between these two wire harnesses? I tried emailing both of these companies and they have not responded. I guess there is a communication issue and difference in response time. I have emailed them a few times now, so I have turned to our trusty Prime members.

Is there a Right Hand Drive Harness or Left Hand harness or not really, the wire harness is the same for both Honda RHD vehicles and Acura LHD vehicles? Who did you guys order your KSP wire harness from?

I used the KSP harness in my last NSX for the ABS upgrade. Both those versions are the same piece. I ordered mine directly from KSP and the RHD layout has enough length to fit the LHD cars. I did not have to modify anything to fit it in my LHD NSX.

THANKS HONCHO! I tried to order from kspweb.jp but they are no longer shipping to the US. They said I would have to order it through rhdjapan.com. Thanks for the help though. Now I am just waiting for my modulator and wire harness to come in ok. Hopefully, this will come in handy for other prime members that need the harness.

You might want to contact Kaz at NSXCB. He can tell you. Also, SOS might help too. IIRC (it's been many, many years lol), the two long black wires with the ring terminals go on the fused side of the 40A power block in the front fuse box. The ground loop goes on the aluminum ABS bracket that mounts to the body. The SCS terminal should be zip tied to the ABS bracket and plugged unless in use. The two black multi-pin connectors should pass through the firewall and connect to the other ends in the footwell. The big white connectors should attach to the ABS plugs in the glovebox.

I no longer deal with KSP and only recommend T3TEC or SoS for the ABS upgrade loom so I may not be able to help you with your specific loom but let's try.

To start with, please specify the exact year model, RHD/LHD, country spec, C30A/C32B engine size, AT/MT of your NSX.

Also, are you using NSX specific modulator or are you using something from different Honda/Acura models?

It will help if you can tell whether it's non-DBW or DBW.
DBW was only introduced on 95+ model except Type-R.

If you have C32B eng, that means you have 97+ MT unless you converted the eng spec.

I don't like the wording 'year model' because each countries have different notion for it and on many occasions, something the owner 'thought' was actually not the correct info.

These info will help in configuring the ABS loom setup.

Can you specify why you no longer deal with them? Is there a safety issue or reliability issue? If so, it'd be great to know before installing their harness. I would hate to have to redo this at a later time.

I have a NSX Specific Modulator supplied by Erik at NSXShop.

If DBW was introduced in 95 and my car is a 91, then I would assume it's a non-DBW.

If you have C32B eng, that means you have 97+ MT unless you converted the eng spec.

Thanks again for your help. The shop says they were able to get power to the modulator now but the ABS light is still on. They are unable to pull any codes using the wire. Let me know if you have any thoughts. Thank you!

Non-T3TEC loom
All of the key personnel left KSP several years ago and started T3TEC.
Almost all of the products for the NSX and sold at KSP were designed by Mr Toyoizumi who is now the CEO at T3TEC so from IP, design patent, future development, etc, no-brainer to go direct for T3TEC.

As long as you bought the KSP loom recently, you'll be fine.
Several years ago, they didn't have SCS terminal out of the BLK/ORG big connector so advised them to change the design.

Some of the ABS loom design are using soldering method at the back of the white 20/18pin connectors with heat shrink tube at each terminal.
Several owners experienced intermittent connection issue because the soldering got cracked while forcing the connector through narrow channel during installation.
Or, the 20/18pin white connectors inside the cabin were not secured properly that it allowed the solder to crack under vibration over months/years.

USDM, LHD, 91, C30A, AT, non-DBW, NSX modulator.
With the KSP loom, you should have received the Japanese installation manual with several photos.

For your NSX spec, use the photo described as [ NA1-100型 ].

This may not be exactly the same as yours but enough for the purpose.

For LHD application, the GND eyelet terminal could be too short for attaching it to the OEM proper GND point.
However, should be able to find good GND nearby.
Some owners used one of the small bolt hole on the modulator big tripod bracket.

Make sure to connect the power eyelet terminal to the fused side (40A) of the screw inside the pentagonal/octagonal relay box under the bonnet/hood.

If you bought the KSP loom recently, you should see 1pin bullet terminal just sticking out from the black cable sleeve of the BLK/ORG big ABS connector.
That's your ABS SCS terminal dedicated for the ABS purpose after the upgrade.

You will still use the 2pin blue SCS terminal inside the cabin at the passenger footwell for the rest of the controllers such as ECU, TCS, EPS, etc.

If using digital display such as the S2000 gauge conversion kit, you must review your relay circuit.

The OEM relay included in the KSP loom is a mechanical one so it will generate inductance noise.
Not a problem for NSX ancient analogue circuit.

The latest ABS is based on Bosch design so anyone who handled the ABS on modern production cars should know that unless one reset the error codes,
the ABS light shall stay On until certain driving conditions (car speed above **mph, etc) are met even after the cause of ABS light was fixed.

Ask your installer to perform the reset sequence.

It will involve the use of ABS SCS, IG key and brake pedal with specific timing/procedures.
If ABS loom was installed properly and no logic failure inside the ABS modulator, the ABS light should blink twice and stays Off.
