Another video and photos of the build: monster VW Bus.
Holy crap! No wonder! It's a mutant Porsche 993 TT VW bus!
When I turned 16 my father gave me the family 1985 VW Vanagon to drive to keep me slow.. It was a 1.8 liter 4 cylinder producing about 100 HP about 4000 (or was it 6000? lbs)
I think the fastest I got it was 80 to 90 MPH going DOWNHILL on I-405... It was scary, probably like 160 in a NSX given the high ground clearance etc..
I also learned (much after this started happening..) that the oil light coming on is not a good thing....given that the engine had some design flaws where it blew up at abou 100k miles.
Anyway, I've always wanted to get the bus back and put in a Porsche engine.. the weight distribution is really well with the rear engine configuration....and as you can tell, it can be fast!
