I was in South Africa for a few weeks. Capetown, Johannesburg, and the Kruger Park area (which is about a 7 hour drive from Johannesburg). This is going to be a HUGE thread. It's a great country and highly recommend people to check it out.

I have tons of pics left to processing so here's Part I.

OH MAN!! So awesome, I wish all women woke up that happy! LOLOL

Lovely Photos Synth, thanks for sharing!!

Awesome NSX, awesome taste in watches, awesoem trip pics...me so envy you.

Wow, amazing!!! What were you doing there? Tourist stuff?

Yep.. doing the tourist thing. :) The trip is fairly LONG and expensive from the States. Once you get there, you realize how cheap we have everything over here. But I do have to say, food is dirt cheap by American standards. For example, the BEST steak at a fancy South African restaurant won't cost more then $15-$20 USD.

Thanks for sharing. It reminds me of my trip down there. However, we never got that close to a lion. The closest we got to one of the big 5 was when we stumbled across a leopard. The leopard just stood next to our vehicle in Kruger.

Did you get a chance to go out deep in the water when you were in Capetown to go watch the sharks breach the water?

Thanks. Actually... didn't get a chance to do the shark thing. Leopards were difficult to find. We were lucky to get to the entire big 5 @ Kruger in one day. Finding the Leopard was pure luck. At the private reserve, we were really close to most of the animals mostly because you can go "off road" unlike Kruger.

Part II.................. Part III will be mostly Capetown area.....

A couple birds, I believe the first one was an eagle.

great shots as we have come to expect....now I can say I've been to Africa just like I say I've been to the Galapgos after seeing RSO's photos:redface:

WHOA!! Amazing pics - What made you decide to go to SA for vacation? How safe was it?

Thank you for sharing synth!

glad you captured everything. I listened to Neil Blomkamp about District 9
(because he is from South Africa) and what he was describing between the beauty, a normal city, and then BAM.....shanty towns is so different than any other cities in the world.

awesome pics as always!
