blue nsx / white wheels

just wrapped up a wheel project with ben @ daisy auto. I was always a bit envious of the other markets since we did not get the white wheel option on the 94-01 7 spoke wheels in the US. I don't plan on doing suspension work to the car and 17/18 or 18/19's just look silly with stock ride height. They look exactly the way I had in mind on a stock blue nsx and no TCS issues

Great picture and color, what year is that, 00-01? I would go with a slight lowering but that is just me.

Your car looks great! I am a fan of the 94-01 wheels and mine are powder coated black with red acura emblems in the center. Black OEM lug nuts to match.

it's a 00, can't argue that a slight lowering would look better. no plans to do it, but the sports modulo kit did spark my interest a bit.

nice, I was thinking about getting the black lugs too, has the black color proven to be durable?

(As a practical matter, white wheels are a b*tch to keep from looking dirty.)

Agree, treated them with polymer wax and clean them after every drive, it is a b*tch, but I enjoy cleaning for some wacko reason

Yes.

Part numbers: 90304-SA7-811 for each lug nut, 08W42-SL0-201 for a set of four matching locking lug nuts.

Beautiful. Reminds me of my NSX when it had the Sorcery kit and VR wheels. It is perfect as it is. Nice colours and oem. The height is perfect for me because the tires and the wheels arcs run paralle (not too high and not too low).

I am a lover of white wheels, but I also like chrome sometimes too - I probably like almost every finish you could think of - white, black, chrome, polished, diamond cut, color keyed, bronze, gold...

In fact I cannot think of a color that looks horrible, it's more the design of the wheels that I find makes all the difference.

To the OP - car looks great! (lower it)

quick update, did a little research trying to find a wheel wax that would endure the grime a wheel experiences on the road. Didn't find any miracle products out there, though many claim to make one. Ended with off the shelf polymer wax. So far so good after a few weeks of driving. Paint has remained slick enough for road grime to be wiped off with minimal effort including area behind the spokes.

Wow! I was right!
I have "the same" car as you - 2001 monaco blue perl but tan interior. I found an extra set of used rims to do something nice with and understood that it is only white or perhaps orange that is a good combo to our blue car. My rims are at this very minute at the paint shop to be painted white and now I found your pictures which shows me I was sooo right! Thank's for that. It is beautiful.

Actually, the white 7-spoke wheel option was available in the United States, but hardly anyone bought it. I know that the Acura dealer here could get them for the 2001 model, because I asked.

That's correct. It wasn't actually an "option" (something ordered for the car as shipped from the factory), but rather, a dealer-installed accessory. Anyone could buy a set of white wheels from any Acura dealer.

They're no longer shown in the parts catalog so I assume they're now discontinued.

Oh, and I should also mention that, when they were available from the dealer, the list price for a set of four was around $6000, plus another few hundred for the center caps. Most dealers are willing to discount by 20-25 percent for a large parts purchase, but still, they were quite expensive, which is undoubtedly a big reason few were sold.

I remember when I scuffed an oem solaris 17 rear wheel back in the day...the offending car wash put it through insurance.....1600$ for one wheel.
