Before I bought my car it had the Catalytic Converters removed and the O2 sensors tack welded to the outside of the exhaust system . The car has been running fine with this arrangement since I have owned it.
However for some reason the dashboard Cat warning light has now started to flicker on and off particularly when driving over bumps which maybe points to a loose connection somewhere.
Can anyone can give me some idea of what I should look for or where I should look to solve this problem.
As a matter of interest cars without Cats are acceptable in New Zealand as we don’t have emission control as part of our warrant of fitness checks.
Even if the law here did change to require emission control the NSX would be exempt
as it is classed as a special interest vehicle.
