Yesterday I got my first NSX, 1996 Red on Black. I just discovered a small crack in the windshield, I am not sure how to approach this. Should use one of those auto glass or windshield repair kits so the crack does not spread? (Are they safe for the windshield, any spotting on the glass?)
Or what would you guys recoment?

Thank you!

If you don't want to replace it, take it to a windscreen repair business.
Personally i would replace it. why would you want a cracked windscreen in your new Red and black nsx anyway?

You should put up a picture so we know the severity.

I would try to fix it as soon as possibly because windshields are getting harder to find.

Under no circumstances would I attempt to repair any windshield chips or cracks myself, using a kit. I've gotten two small but non-trivial chips in my windshield, and have had both of them expertly repaired by a local person (a 60+ year-old woman!); the results were great, and the chips are barely detectable after repair. The process takes at least 45 minutes and some special equipment to do correctly.

To start, I would locate a reputable person or service who repairs windshields, and I would ask them if they thought the crack can be repaired, or if the windshield should be replaced. They should know the answer far better than you. I would listen to their advice.

As much as possible I would prefer to have the chip or crack repaired rather than having to replace the windshield, but ONLY if the repair shop/person is highly confident that the crack won't get worse after repair. If not, then I would go for the windshield replacement.

i agree with plz.i had this done by professionals to a crack in my integra glass. there is still a noticeable spot where they did the repair.it would probably be worse if you tried a diy.i believe they can only do the repair if the crack is small, say if you could cover it with a dime.

I had a chip repaired several years ago, and not only has it been completely stable and nearly invisible, it was covered 100% by my insurance company. That makes sense: the company pays a chip repair company a couple of 10s of dollars rather than several hundred dollars for a new windshield.

It is my understanding that most insurance companies in Colorado offer this same deal. You might want to check out the situation in your state.
