Hi all, thought I would share this easy mod I did to get a more OEM fitting DRL.
Originally I installed a pair of HELLA LED Safety DayLights™ Kit - 15˚ but after sometime I became unhappy with the fitting as they didn't fill the complete horizontal gap in the bumper.
I decided to purchase 2 pairs of the same kit and join them to get a 300mm long DRL that fits the gap perfect, a few pics of my mod progress:
Basically I cut them to match the profile of the bumper, made sure I didn't cut into the lens to ensure its still waterproof. Then crystal epoxy together, then added the alloy strip and finally connected to car.
You can see in one pic I have only installed on one side to give a comparison.
Also HELLA make an extremely high quality product that is leaps and bounds ahead of the Chinese crap you buy elsewhere. Fully certified and a lot of it has a lifetime warranty these days. Enjoy!
