I got a hood for free from a friend who got a carbon fiber one. I thought it'd be fun to chop it up and make a custom hood for fun. My question is does Bondo and other body fillers/putties adhear to aluminum as well as it would on steel and other body material? Thanks

Yes, it does.
Just make sure you don't use too much hardener(it is an oxidizer). It can speed up the creation of aluminum oxide between the aluminum and the bondo which can weaken the bond. Doesn't hurt to wipe down the aluminum with a metal etching solution just prior to applying the filler as well.
