Team Continental Road and Race Car Driver Training - 2001
March 24 (Sat) - April 14 (Sat) - Oct 6 (Sat) - Oct 27 (Sat)
ON-TRACK DRIVING WITH INSTRUCTOR
Sanctioned by ICSCC
Requirements for Students:
Minimum 18 years of age with a valid state or provincial drivers license. License must be shown at Ground School registration.
Approved helmet, Snell 1980 or newer.
An attentive, safety first attitude.
Requirements for Cars:
Sound Mechanical condition.
Fluids filled - oil, water, transmission.
Good belts, hoses and BRAKES.
3/32" minimum tire tread depth.
Clean, inside and out, including engine compartment.
All loose items removed. Spare tire, jack, battery secured.
Cars with removable tops must have a roll bar that extends over the driver's and instructor's heads.
Headlights taped to prevent possible breakage.
Two seats with working seat belts (except formula cars and sports racers).
Ground School - Evening Before:
Location to be confirmed in acceptance letter.
Time 6:30 PM until 10:00 PM.
Topics will include:
Vehicle Dynamics - handling characteristics of cars.
Car Control - brake, throttle, steering and shifting techniques.
"Driving the Line" under ideal and adverse road conditions.
Usage of flags and what they mean.
Safety equipment and Conference race licensing procedures.
Track Day:
Portland International Raceway, West Delta Park, Portland, OR 7:30 AM.
Your day will include - technical inspection of your vehicle by your instructor, driver's meeting, comprehensive track walk, on track driving with instructor, and certificate of completion.
Price:
The price for the Driver Training is $125 per student.
Price is per student - more than one student per car can enter.
