Two noises in this video... the lower frequency noise is my tires (argh!) but the higher toned noise I'm not sure of, it increases with speed, regardless what gear the car is in, or even in neutral. What is this sound? It has been slowly getting louder over the past week, but now it's even more noticable because my left speaker started going out so I turn off the radio until I can figure out what is causing that. lol

So, what is this sound? What part of the drivetrain would do that?

I'm rolling around 30mph at the start of the video

@08 I shift from 4th to 5th

@30 seconds I put it into neutral (at around 60mph)

@55 seconds i put it back into gear (40mph?)

@1:07 I slow down to a stop

sounds like wheel bearings to me.

I believe it might be the front left wheel bearing, as when I turn right it gets louder, and quieter when turning left. Anybody know any reputable shops in the VA area that can check it out for me, without ripping me off? I don't wanna just start throwing money at the car trying to fix it. Thanks!

See if your inner F/R tires are cupping. Otherwise, very poss. wheel bearing since it does not change pitch with engine revs.

just lift the front of the car and grab the tire and jiggle it around and see if it's all over the place, if not, instead of the "jiggle" do the ridgid body and see if there is mm's worth of play... and also spin the wheel and see what it says... maybe... :) it's a start...
