The weather was hot, in most cases, over 95 degree and often passed 100.

Renault again, is fastest. Giacarlo Fisichalla started from pole position, and finish first, his third career victory. He did however, had an interesting race. The Renault pit had to remind him to drive faster because he was very inconsistent with his lap time. Without any traffic on front of him, he had a margin of plus/minus 3 seconds per lap, very inconsistent.

Ruben again had a bad weekend. Honda opt to change his engine so he received a 10 grid penalty. He worked his way up, could have finished in points, but he received a 10 second pit penalty. His race was very much over after that. Com'on Ruben, we need your help to score points. You are the puzzle piece Honda was missing!!!! Sato could have done better. You now have two weeks to figure out how not to drive like you're in a Ferrari. Honda offered you a faster car this year and you need to master it. At least beat Michael on a regular basis. OK, enough about Ruben.

Jenson Button started on P2, and stay P2 after the first corner. It was Alonso however, that charged up; he jumped from 8th to second, which later knocked Jenson out of second place. Jenson however, drove another good race, and gave Honda the first podium finish of the season...

Interestingly, he is also second in point standing, behind Alonso, which means, if Honda can offer him more speed and better strategy, he can still do something constructive in term of challenging for the title.

Ferrari on the other hand, had to change both Michael Schumacher and Felipe Massa's engine (Twice with Massa this weekend). Which means they both received a 10 grid penalty. Schumacher however, finished 6th, and Massa 5th!!! that was unexpected, considering Ferrari always ask the "second" driver to pull aside for Michael so he can score more points. No favoritism this time!!!

Nick Heidfeld's BMW engine blew up... Nothing new there....

Kimi's McLaren MB got bumped out during first lap, wasn't his fault...

Montoya finished fourth, but his race was uneventful. He was basically racing him self.

Jacque Villneuve finished 7th, for driving conservatively, and gave BMW some points.

And last, R Schumacher did the same thing as Jacque, a safe but steady race. He gave Toyota their first point of the season.

Takuma Sato did a great job, did not crash into anyone, and finished his race for the second time for a team that is barely 5 months old in a 4 years old Arrow’s chassis. Great job. Super Aguri with Honda Power may be a dark horse in the mid field line up!!!

Renault has had better strategy than Honda so far.
JB could have had the pole if he waited longer in the qualifing before changing tires. RB needs more time with the car and team to show some results, but we can't wait!
Wish I could join you guys watching the races but you live too far from me. Besides, I've been watching races LIVE!

Vance,

Thanks a lot for that post! Unfortunately I missed the race. I think once RB gets a bit more comforatable in his car, we will see Honda start earning some serious points.
