Great read on the myth of "Ram Air"

ram air, as in a ws6 trans am has little to no effect at normal speeds

this is different thought from a cold air intake , that is seen on alot of cars. This does produce hp during normal driving depending on the motor, somewhere in the range of 15-20, more around 15 though if its the only mod.

i had cold air intakes on my trans am and z28's and had a noticeable seat of pants difference as well as the dyno verify it.

but ram air, the article is probably right

It would take an awful lot of pressure to overcome the constant vacuum of the engine's intake strokes IMO. I would think that any "ramming" of the air is limited by the size of the TB inlet and the engine's own vacuum.

That's it the TB inlet is the same with or without the AIS  and with out FI you CAN't push anymore air into the cylinders.
