headlight adjustment

Now I know this issue must have been addressed before but I can't find it. I need to know how to adjust the headlight beam up and down. I saw the other post on adjusting the beam but that only aimed the lights to the left or right by using the teeth of the gear inside the headlight cover. Any answers would be great.
