Newbie questions.

It does not feel like I am going fast but the speedometer says 140+. Is the speedometer accurate? It is fun as long as I don't get caught. Know what I mean?

What kind of mileage am I supposed to get? The way I have been driving, I figure I get about 350-400 km a tank.

Will take some getting use to, the weight of your foot in 5th will be around 120km/h. Defineatly no 4Runner!

My mileage before city was about 450~500kms thats going into the reserve with the gas light on solid. I'd average about 500~550kms highway. Not sure what some of the others are getting?

the cruise control is the only way i can keep the speeds down:tongue:

#1) Milage varies with RPM, if you rev it up and enjoy the sound of rollign around @4000 it drinks gas, if you keep revs down, milage is UNBELIEVABLE - I drove 6.5 hours at 130kph on one tank with cruise in 6th gear

#2) With all the shit thats happened in that last few weeks with racing accidents causing death - keep it under 140 or you may surrender your car to the crusher, they're just looking for a few examples now (I'm told by people who know)

I'd tell the cop good luck if he tries to take my car.

I have two lawyers working at my company and we have about 200 lawsuits we will handle this year - the best type of defence is avoiding the offence - keep the speed reasonable and you'll never have to tell the cop anything.

Keep the speed for the racetrack - since I've been driving my car on the track I can't get excited about going fast on the 401 - there's nuthin to it, only danger and tickets.

Omar, do you think before you write stuff?

As Stu said, just avoid the issue and you have no worries. They're after street racers. I hope they crush all their cars.

Keep it to the track. There's no excuse these days - we are stuffing track days down everyones throat.

Amen!!!!

If you can't pay the fine, don't do the crime!

I get a nominal 150km to the tank on the track, 450-500km to the tank around the city, and have done 750km to the tank on highway road trips. I'm also running a 6spd conversion so the tall 6th gear will certainly help on those long trips

You guys see the Globe article today about OPP exploring increasing the use of Police planes to nab speeders? They also suggest that making 50kph over the limit as a cut off that, beyond which, you will loose your car.

Yeah, Omar's gonna have to switch to dry ice so he lays down a smoke screen as he drives!

You have time to read the paper? And you claim I'M a man of leasure!:)

Omar should just paint the surface of the road on the top of his car. "Look down there! Theres a chunk of ashphalt going 200kph!!!"

I hate the thought of spotter planes. Theyre deadly. Way worse than laser.

Thats what my lawyer said...I swear...

But seriously, you have to be something really stupid for them to impound your car. As far as crushing goes, not sure how that will pan out given the fact that some cars are produced for racing/track use....so it would be an entertaing court case thats for sure....

With this will come cops giving people hard times, and abuse of power...

Was also in the Star........perhaps a new business venture is to set up a "crusher" company as it appears there will be lots of toys in the future. All it takes is a goodball on a cell phone to make a call the someone who passd them is speeding.......then what?? There is a difference between speeding and racing!

According to this article, "cars owned by the street racers can also be seized for up to a week" in Ontario. Did they amend the law for sending cars to the crusher?
