Yes, it isn't quite ready for the amateur applications. They need to stay clean and debris free and need maintenance. They are roughly going to cost $6000/set, but it is worth it for a motorsport team because to change rates you just add or subtract rings. They are about 65% lighter than steel, but they also put less angular pressure on the damper shaft. They are working on a bag that wraps the coils that lets it breathe but keeps debris out. They were to be used by Indy cars but a last minute reversal prevented it. They have been race tested, but are not "legal" with most sanctioning bodies yet. They do provide an unfair advantage. We are looking at the future of spring technology.
