I accidentally damaged my driver's side, rear upper ball joint boot over the weekend while installing my suspension.

I know that one of the members can replace the entire joint, but is it possible to replace only the boot? the joint itself is still in good condition.

and sorry for the poor verbage in the title... lol

thanks,
Allen

Yes it's possible, I just had mine replaced on the passenger side. When the mechanic went to get parts from the Acura dealer, though, they told him there was no such part. Had to look up the number and give it to them or they would have ordered the whole control arm.

yeah I always look the part number up myself then give it to the parts dept. if they look it up its always wrong. LOL

trust me.

cool thanks for the help guys!

I've also been chatting with Larry off-line and he says that it's about a 50/50 change of separating the ball joint from the hub. Otherwise it's a new control arm, or have Steve Ghent replace the ball joint.

Keeping my fingers crossed!
