Lost in the wilderness

Purchased a 91 NSX a couple of weeks ago .
The air conditioner is not blowing cold air .
The prior owner had just had BrianK rework the climate control module . Do not think that is the problem .
The compressor is still not coming on . Had a shop look at it and the mechanic told me the ECU was not sending the signal to the compressor . He was able to engage the compressor . (system has pressure)
Am on the right track ? Suggestions on how to proceed .

Im curious if the mechanic is bypassing the clutch relay. Have you replace that. Some relays on these will interchange so you could likey swap and rule that out.
