Melbourne Boys join the Sydney Club Drive

Neo and Dippy9 travelled all the way from Melbourne to Sydney to join us for the August drive day held by the New South Wales club.

Neo spent the bulk of the drive with his head out the window (even when he was getting pelted with rain!) so I am expecting some pretty good photos to be posted to this thread shortly - watch this space.

1st post!

Yes, it was an awesome trip and well worth the 10 hour drive to Sydney (err... 8 hours )

My photos have been processed; it's just a matter of scanning them. Some pix have come out great: even the one's where i was hanging out the window in the rain!


Here's some funny quotes of the day over the CB radio:

<B>NSXBOX puts on car bra, and wants to put on the separate piece covering hood</B> : Dippy9: "Don't worry about it Nico... nothing wrong with showing a little cleavage"

<B>Anonymous</B> : "Let's show these S2000's what a real engine is like... bigger than a bottle of soft-drink".

well well well. I am finally back on the net. Got back from the drive and wanted to upload all the pics i guess we have to wait till tomorrow for the pics.

Grant thanks for inviting me up to the drive we had a blast. (PS can you send me your email again they have changed all the systems in the office and changed over all internet settings.) I will definetly come up next time if you can beat double figure turnouts (but the car will be travelling up on the back of a truck!!! that i guarantee)

Laski it was great meeting you i love the s2000 antenna and i think i will get one this week. You have to show me how you put in on.

Fantastic group of guys and cars except fot that white one he was too fast for me to keep up. cant stop talking about it.

Yeah your right Laski i dont really like blue collar hard labour that is why i am always on the computer. Ok then if you really want you can come down to Melbourne and put it on for me. Thanks Laski, better than having those fishing lines on our cruise. I guess Telstra had the NSx antenna on its mind when they made those digital ones.

where did you get this mesh engine cover from? Local or overseas?

I just got the s2000 antenna from a buddy. Have not installed it yet, but it looks simple enough...might require removal of the original antenna, but that is just a hunch.

Cool picks guys. Hopefully next time I will be able to join you all.

Removed part of the assembly the other day but ran out of time so I put it back together to do another day. Will let you know when I have it done.

Did you mount yours straight up? The "housing" that is there seems like it is a simple screw on job, but the s2000 antenna would be straight up, not on a slight angle - which is the look I was after.

flight: my mesh cover its from japan,
s2k antenna:
its not that simple, you need to make the hole slightly bigger and then you need to modify the s2k antenna to make it fit, thats what I did on mine, I dunno if you can come up with a simple method, and with mine is slightly on an angle too, pict attached

Very Sorry I was not able to join you guys. Unfortunately my X will have to remain in Qld until Feb next year when the X5 arrives and I can trailer it down here to Sydney.

Having a trailer and tow vehicle will allow me to join you Melbourne guys for a run on my favourite piece of road... The Great Ocean Road!. I'm also looking forward to a track day at Philip Island.

Looking forward to meeting you all in the near future...
