Well, we just made the list squeaking in at no. 25, but at least the NSX is there. I was surprised to see it.

ACURA NSX - Ferrari-quality power at Japanese prices.
"The best overall performance on the track" - Adrian Fernandez, CART Driver.

Other notables, M5, Mclaren F1, 360 Spider and Porsche 911.

------------------
1993 White NSX, 70K miles and running STRONG!

"Ferrari-quality power at Japanese prices"

Does this mean you get crappy quality and reliability issues but at least you do not pay that much?

its always been like this..
nicknamed
asian ferrari
oriental ferrari
ferrari of the east

I think its an appraise that Asian cars could achieve European exotic car quality..

but in some ways the NSX are better..such as. have you seen the Tesstarossa 348.. diablo etc interior.. I think they suck and doesnt matches the beautiful exterior they have got... in this case.. the NSX got a better , nicer interior...than a Ferrari

13 - 1966 Shelby Cobra 427
12 - 1949 VW Beetle
11 - 1962-67 Austin Mini Cooper

###############

10 - 1990 Mazda Miata
9 - 1965 Jaguar E-type
8 - 1972 BMW 2002tii
7 - 1955 Citroen DS19
6 - 1963-67 Corvette Sting Ray
5 - 1994 McLaren F1

3 - 1962-64 Ferrari 250 GTO

Interesting choices...

We should feel honored, being mentioned on the same list as a 1980 Ford truck.

Oh well, you know what they say: "All publicity is good publicity."

There are only a handfull of cars on the list that I would even think of owning. However, if I owned the third one one the list: 1962-64 Ferrari 250 GTO, I could sell it and buy the other 24 cars list and have money left over.

Note that just over half of them are "sports cars"... several aren't even "sporty" by any measure.

This is their panel's list of "25 Greatest Cars" -- largely based on their impact on, amongst other things, their segment.

Man Ken, that made me laugh out loud

I didn't even spot the Ford Truck on there the first pass... heh.

Agreed though, good to make the list, the NSX certainly did it's part to redefine the sports car category through the 90's.

I agree with you, the list is upside down!!! My first choices would then be one and two.

BWWHAHAHAAHA, what a silly list. Normally I would be THRILLED to have ANY of the cars that make these kind of lists. In this case there are some that I would be thrilled to know that they will NEVER make it into my garage!!! Kevin

...and (much to ALLAN'S chagrin, I'm sure) no Lamborghinis! I bet the Countach was THE dream care for the majority of boys who grew up to be readers of that magazine.

'91 Black/Black

I am not sure what the 250 GTO's are bringing in todays economy, but I am pretty sure you wouldn't be able to buy the McLaren for what you could sell it for.

I'll bet you could buy at least 3 McLarens for the price of a 250 GTO

I seem to remember reading about 250 GTO's bringing $3-4M at auction. I found a web site (NADA classic and exotic values) that lists the value from $4.4 to 8.25M

Production period 1962 - 1963
Number built (Approx) 33

If the above numbers are correct, there arn't many of them to go around.
