Hi, guys,

Just wanted to share with you all some of the costs of parts/services I had performed at the local Acura dealership in Houston, just to serve as a reference point for those considering similar, hope it helps others get an idea of what maintenance expenses are to be expected with this car! Have a nice week, all.

1999 Acura NSX

A. Install OEM keyless access system (I supplied parts purchased from Prime member Drew): $347.50 in labor
B. Replace clutch master and slave cylinders and hoses, bled clutch hydraulic system: $611 in parts and $820 in labor (I probably should have ordered parts from Amayama)
C. Replace fuel filter: $90 parts and $285 labor
D. Replace PCV valve: $40 parts and $90 labor
E. Replace R rear axle seal (leaking): $12 parts and $590 in labor

Now I remember why I sold my last 3 NSX's, ha! This car is going to be expensive to maintain due to aging parts, as I want to do more preventative and maintenance stuff soon, such as ABS upgrade, spark plugs, change out all hoses, etc,

You need to find another dealer. Those labor prices are unreal but believe able because it's a dealer. A fuel filter should take a tech 5 minutes, the price they charged for clutch master and slave could have been labor for a whole clutch. Even at $200 hr it should not take anywhere near 4 hours for that service.

Those prices are robbery. I hope you find a better place to have your car serviced because they screwed you hard even by dealership standards.

PCV valve is literally minutes to replace. I could see a fuel filter taking maybe half an hour at most if the mechanic is roughly as smart as the average monkey.

Dealership labor rates have increased 50-70% in the last couple of years. Techs are demanding more pay. Dealership techs are no different than the certified techs at mom and pop shops.

You are near Houston, why aren't you using Carl at https://www.cmcarspecialist.com/ ? Trained NSX tech

Thank you, I plan to, but CM isn’t open on weekends, and sometimes I really need that flexibility due to my work obligations! I definitely will find a way to make it work out to get to Carl for future maintenance, though!
