Nail in tire causes TSC light?

I just noticed I had a nail in my rear tire (not leaking air). Ive also been having a problem with my TCS light blinking whenever I accelerate in each gear. Im getting the nail taken out and patched tomorrow but just curious as to if anyone else has had a similar problem with there TCS light blinking.

If the rear tires are spinning faster than the (6%??) smaller front tires the TCS computer puts up the red flag and should take away the throttle. There are probably codes stored that should be cleared.
