I replaced the spark plugs today and noticed that 3 of the threads in the front bank where the coils are tightened down had been stripped. What can be done about this. P.S. I am using a micro torque wrench with proper settings (factory manual.)

Thanks in advance

Its the threads that the bolts go into to hold the coils down.

Thanks again,

M.

First, check your bolt and make sure it is the same as all the others and not some other bolt out of your garage.

Also check to make sure your torque wrench is set at 9 lb-ft and that it somewhat calibrated.

Next, you might try running a 6mm x 1.0mm tap down the hole to "dress" the threads.

Also, check the bolts and make sure their threads are good, if not then replace the bolts or try to dress them with a 6mm x 1.0mm die.

if that doesn't work then the helicoil option should work, you'll need one that fixes a 6.0mm hole.

Good luck,
DanO
