Need body shop NJ/NY

Help. Without going into the painful details, I need a body shop in New Jersey (or New York City area) to repair my 1998 NSX which was damaged in a parking garage. The attendant lost control of an AC Cobra (yes, a real one) and pushed my car into a pole. I tried searching but didn't come up with anything so any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Jeff

I do not know the extent of your damage but for a expert body and paint repair I would only bring it to one person. Joseph Lomeriello who owns Vince's Auto Body Works located in 185 Smith Street, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601 his number is (845) 454-3220. He is a well known stand up member of this site under the name pbassjo and has repaired probably more nsx's then anyone in the country. He is not only a member of this site but also a Nsx owner and will treat your car like his own.

+1, Joe's a perfectionist and knows the car as an owner as well as a professional.

Another vote for Joe at Vince's Auto Body Works. Flawless, as in, you could never tell the difference between the factory paint and where he painted. It's the only place to take an NSX.

Joe did an impeccable job on my car. He is the best and gives 110% when it comes to the NSX. I highly recommend him as well.

If Joe's location isn't manageable for you, Ultimate Collision in Edison NJ is another excellent shop. They fixed my puncture wound with style and grace and have also done work on Climerao's NSX.

Your car is made of aluminum and this requires special knowledge and understanding to repair correctly so there are no problems in the future. Joe, who own's Vince's is also a prime member, NSX and in general a car enthusiast so you will get the kind of attention you will never get elswhere. He has in depth knowledge of the original NSX paint process and has seen probably more NSXs in his shop than all shops combined in the area. Redz is a car restorer and show car specialist, does very nice work, show car quality but is not detail oriented, where as, Joe is an NSX specialist and does the best NSX work, period. I have seen the results from both shops and I must say that NSX knowledge for the assembly of the parts is critical and that is where Joe shines. The extra distance is worth it to get the job done right.

My 2 cents....good luck.

There are only a couple of things that could cause me to come out of my retirement from Prime and this is one of them. I cannot recommend anyone other than Joe Lomoriello (Pbassjo)/Vince's Autobody if you want the job done right. Joe has done my NSX three times and my E55 AMG once (yes, I know, luck with cars has not been my forte).

He repaired my NSX as follows:

1. Right side hit by rental car that backed up into my car
2. Right rear wheel sheared off in the left hander at Lime Rock (at speed) resulting in a suspension/bodywork being needed
3. Complete repainting to freshen up a 12 year old black NSX with 110,000 miles and 60 track days worth of road rash

Samples of the before and after photos of his work may be found in this thread: http://www.nsxprime.com/forums/showthread.php?t=100947

And now back to retirement......

im looking to bring joe my nsc to have my body kit (wings west front lip, stacy side skirts with door panels, and downforce 02+ rear valence) painted and installed. hopefully i can get to it asap.

for those who had joe do their paint job, how long did it take???

and does he also offer paintless dent removal in house or out?

Joe is definitely no "out house". You want it done properly, allow Joe to do it to his satisfaction. No shop that I know of wants to keep you car taking up space and not generating revenue, the difference with Joe is that he won't shove it out the door until he's happy with it. I've seen many cars that he's worked on............beautiful work. When you're using after market parts, hoods, skirts etc. the quality of the fit and fitment varies greatly, sometimes it takes more time to trim and fit properly than it's worth, but if you want it done right, you pay with $$$ and patience. How long it takes is a function of how much work it takes to do properly.

Another +1 for Joe. He knows the NSX inside and out. He has employees that have worked at his shop for many years and have made careers out of their profession.

Since you're in the NYC area, I would drive up there, drop the car off at Joe's, and take the train back to Grand Central. This is what I did when I needed bodywork.

Did this happen in NYC, the Dr. I bought my Zanardi from stores his real 427 in a Manhattan parking garage. I wonder if it was his?

Thanks everybody for all of your help. I spoke with Joe today and I'm very happy that he is going to be working on it.

Yes, it happened in NYC at a garage on Mercer St. near Washington Square.

Joe will certianly take care of you, we work together on many projects. Make sure you have him take you out in his supercharged NSX;). You may not be the same after that:D:D:D.

Joe 'pbassjo' Lomoriello does impeccable work, no question about it. I'll bet he's fixed more NSXs than any other shop in the northeast. But the best thing about Joe is that, well, he's Joe: a stand-up guy who will always do what he says and will go the extra mile for you (or extra hundred miles if necessary).

You guys...that's so kind of you. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

Joe

im trying to set up a date with my nsx a joe

hes pretty busy at the moment, so who knows when my nsx will be getting some love :frown:

I think Russ said it best!

Joe Larry says free rides which will leave you "never the same". I'll be dropping by for that! You're the best

I am probably the pickiest guy on Prime, and when my NSX needs work it goes 3 hrs upstate to see Joe. There may not be a body shop more familiar with the intricacies of the NSX and what's involved in proper disassembly and reassembly of these autos. Besides, Joe is about as friendly, professional, courteous, and honest a man as you will find....and my Type R conversion came out just incredible .
