I have a '10 MBP 13", and I'm looking at getting an external display. I have found a few in the price range of $100-$245. Would like some feedback, specially if you have used any of these displays. Obviously the 20" has the lowest resolution. I will be using it mostly to edit with FCP and Avid, some Photoshop, and movies of course. Appreciate any help/advice I can get. :)

Apple Cinema Display 20" (Aluminum) for $100 1680x1050

Apple Cinema Display 23" (Aluminum) for $245 1920x1200

LG L246WP 24" for $150 1920x1200 (was asking $200, said he will take $150)

Dell Ultrasharp 24" for $200 1920x1200 (I'll see if I can get it lower)

Fair enough! I was just throwing it out there because I have one that I'm very happy with, as do many of my friends.

Something similar is available although somewhat pricier with a warranty and an American name-brand via Micro Center:

Thanks, that's out of my budget right meow. I think I'm gonna go for the Ultrasharp 24" if I can get the guy to sell it for under $200. It's either that or the 23" Apple display for $245. Now that I think about it, the Apple display does have a built-in power cable, display, and USB, so I would use my current adapter as a spare when I'm on the go. Hmm.. decisions....

I have the Hanns-G 28" monitor I got from Costco a few years back. Pretty good bang for the buck and it's still going strong. Resolution is 1920x1200 but it was real cheap.

Newegg has a 27" one for $230 with 1920x1080 with mostly favorable reviews.

Thanks. The Hanns has been discontinued, and the other display is 1080p. I really need 1920*1200. I'll be picking up either the Ultrasharp or Cinema Display later tonight.

I use Dell U2410's and a good deal if you can get it for $200, I'm not sure which ultrasharp you mean though as they have two 24's one is LED backlit :( . It's a sweet IPS and comes color calibrated for SRGB. The u2410 has some usb ports on the side, some card readers, it's adjustable and about 100 video ports to connect it to anything. Downside is it's a large beast and the composite input only shows black and white on one of mine.

It's the u2408
The guy said he'll let it go for $175, so I'll probably pick it up tonight.

Thanks guys for the help. After doing some research on the Ultrasharp and reading about its wide gamut, and how you have to calibrate it and what not, I decided to go with the Apple Cinema Display. It may be an inch smaller, but I'm happy with the display. :)
