From a long time lurker, rare poster:

Looking for specific connections from factory radio to new amplifier.

Mark (nsxpilot) and I are finally getting around to installing sub and door speakers, with an Alpine PDX 4.150 amp in our NSX's. We are keeping our stock head units and using the SOS "factory to aftermarket amplifier and speakers" adapter. The SOS adapter includes a pair of RCA connectors that have the audio out from the head. I understand that these signals go to the amp inputs for the door speakers.
What signals are used to drive the sub inputs?
Do we need "Y" adapters at the Alpine PDX 4.150 to feed the signals into the channels to be bridged and drive the sub?
OR is there something else that needs to be connected?

Thanks,

Roy

The second input channel on the amplifier is only used if you use an aftermarket amplifier with a separate output channel for the subwoofer (aftermarket decks allow you to tune the sub signal separately). Since you are using the stock deck, you plug the pair of RCAs into input channel 1 of your amplifier. On the amplifier, you will then switch the door speaker and sub source both to channel 1. The output channels will then be 1 & 2 for the door speakers and 3 & 4 bridged for the sub.

Hope that helps.
