new 2002 nsx tear down & build

Shaun this build looks amazing. At first when looking at your latest photos I had to figure out where the welds were...but realized that it was the rear blackened area (there's another body width weld closer to the doors that threw me off).

Hey got my Vision Gator skateboard thanks to your links! Complete with wheels and trucks! thanks man!

OK updates,

today I removed the engine from the 2003 NSX.

this 24K mile engine is so freaking mint. not one flaw that I could see.

then installed everything I took out of the engine bay for my 2004 build.

main wire harness, gas tank which was half a tank. it was so much fun.

my wife gave me 2 days all to myself. so I was dancing and jumping around all day in JOY.

here are some pics for your entertainment

nothing compared to the NSX its just a grocery getter.

the 08 Type-S suspension is the hardest thing ever,

its harder than my DD NSX.

Ok guys guess what i did when i got off work today???

I dropped in an NSX engine in record time since I prepped for 2 days this weekend.

it slid in like a glove. took Supersonics old bent to shit sub frame and tossed it. here are some pics for your pleasure

if you look real close at the fist pic from today, note where the engine hoist chains are connected

the chassis is lowered onto the engine and subframe

you know this.

I know that's how I would do it and how the manual outlines but you DID post...
I dropped in an NSX engine in

And then
it slid in like a glove

and I think that you could of done that especially since I have not seen evidence of you having a lift.

It would have not surprised me if you had, after all I mean you are working outside under less than ideal conditions and I'm sure have had to improvise form time to time.
I know of one other guy who did just that, It wouldn't be a first.
Don't go testy on me.:wink::smile:

So you can tell the wealthy people in your neighborhood because they have two cars up on blocks? j/k - I'm sure your neighbors love you.

Shawn, looks like you had a lot of fun. I always enjoy big projects such as these. I would loathe doing all this work outside (instead of a garage) but it's nice to see that it doesn't hinder you!

Keep up saving these endangered beauties! We all appreciate it.

Pbassjo I know you were messing with me and you know I would never get testy with you LOL.

my house is small right now but am saving up for a nice house for my wife.
but hey its on the water (salt)if I didnt literally give my boat away ($0.00 ) 17" Caravelle Bowrider
to Smoores I could drive the boat to the skyway bridge and grouper fish.

as for the neighbors I know everyone and if you have ever talked to me in person you would see that I am an easy guy to like.
give the shirt of my back to someone in need.

just today at work a women dropped her lunch all over the floor, I stopped and helped her pick all of her mac/cheese/dirt with my bare hands and scooped it back on her tray I felt bad and helped her get a replacement lunch free to her. cuz i didnt know if she was gonna try and eat it with todays economy and all.

Ok update I hated the paint in the trunk it looked crappy.
So its back at the paint shop to re-due paint.

I told them to paint it like the 2004.

I think the car should have been painted like the 2004 from the factory.

will be done next friday. so stay tuned Im gonna be starting it up for the first time since I drove it back from California.

Youtube vid will be posted soon.
