Hey guys, it's been awhile since I've been around. Our '96 is finally ours, and I have a couple quick questions. 1) Just wondering if you can tell me if the factory alarm will work with the top off and stored under the back window? I've read the factory manual and can't find anything saying if it does or doesn't. Right now our car won't alarm with the top off and I'm taking it down to an Acura dealer and want to know if I need to have this looked at. 2) The car doesn't have the bolts for the rear license plate. Can someone please tell me the size and if they are bolts or screws? As always, thanks for reading and replying.

1. Yes, the car should arm if you have the top off and it's in the T panel storage above the engine. BUT, if not placed in the storage compartment correctly, you will not be able to arm the car. Here's a good way to test to see if you put your top in the storage bin correctly.

-Put the T panel in its storage compartment.

-Start the car.

-Is the warning light saying the T panel is off/loose coming on in the dash area? If so, you aren't putting the T panel in correctly. IF there are no warning lights on, then something else is wrong... and I don't have a clue.

2. Dunno size or thread specs. Sorry. :(

Congratulations- Did you find the Purple?

Glad to see you finally found one. Did you end up finding the Midnight color you were looking for? Would love to hear the details on your car.

As always, thanks for the replies. Looks like I'll have to have it looked at when I take it to Acura for a service. There is not a light on the dash when the top is stored, and I verified it by pulling it back while the car was running, and the light did come on, so hopefully its minor.
Andrew, yes we did find a Midnight Pearl! The car is everything we were looking for. Unfortunately, getting the car home once we made the deal was just short of a nightmare, but I don't think I need to discuss it on an open forum. But she is home know and we finally have the paper work taken care of, so we can finally drive her. The car has 20,040 miles, has black interior and manual trans. There were some minor issues, but nothing some detailing and TLC didn't fix. We're going to drive up to Big Bear this evening for our first "real" drive. It's fun to see my wife sooo excited, it'll be great. So how is your search going?
As a side note, if anybody is getting close to a purchase of a vehicle that is far away and going to be shipped, feel free to PM me and I'll help you with any questions, and what mistakes I made with my transition.
Thanks for reading,

In most cases when there is a prospective buyer on here who is looking for a Nsx that cannot visually inspect a car themselfs.... they can make a post here and ask if there is someone here on the board who lives closer to the seller and is willing to go make a visit and do a pre purchase inspection for them and provide a report as to the condition of the vehicle.
