There will be a 2017 NSX crossing the auction block at the Mecum Kissimmee auction in January. It will be interesting to see what it brings, or doesn't bring? Last year every supercar known to mankind went across the block, the majority of which did not meet reserve. Here's the link: https://www.mecum.com/lots/FL0119-3...114288305&mc_cid=7f084a90e9&mc_eid=6c2c2695c5

It is a highly optioned car, Casino White on red, with 6 miles, and an engine # in the 400's, so it's a very early car I'd think. It has to be 2 years old? I'd be concerned about the battery, but I suppose it's still under warranty.

Auctions are sketchy in my view, and they are allowed to bid cars up to the reserve, so who really knows what the bids mean. I thought that the descriptive write up on the car was very good, and it will be interesting to see what the commentators have to say about the car. It will look great on the block under all the lights........

My buddy bought the 85k car with 24,000 miles
Market is pretty soft on the car with more than 15k on the dial
car was mid price MSRP 170's

That’s a steal. However I wouldn’t want to own this car out of warranty unlike the NA1/2. Hopefully mine is going get bought back via the Lemon Law.

It looks like the $85k price was due to condition (3.5), not just mileage. The one that sold on 11/15 also had 25k miles but sold for $113k with a 4.2 condition rating.

I dont get how these are wholesale prices. My car has 4k miles and I've been trying to sell it for months for 129k with no interest whatsoever.

You are probably having a difficult time since it's not one of the "gotta have it" color combos and had only mid-level upgrades on a 2017. With incentives and current deals a new 2018 and perhaps a 2019 may be more attractive to buyers.

IMO. This is the worst time of year to be selling a sports car. The current incentives make new lower MSRP cars more attractive. (I was looking for used but decided to buy a new one for about the same price)

Now that most of the lower MSRP 2017s and 2018s are gone, and with spring around the corner, I think there will be more interest in your car. Glws.

I think with cars like this the Manheim values are closer to retail then wholesale prices. I had a wholesale license for several years and it's common on the high end cars to get a retail buyer paying a dealer friend $500 or whatever to buy a car at the auction.

I just sold a perfect, absolutely flawless condition Lamborghini Gallardo. It took 5 months and the Manheim prices were close to what I got. I almost ran it through but found a buyer before I did. I'm fairly certain the price through Manheim would have been within a few thousand $$$ of what I did with a retail buyer.

So, it looks like the NSX offered for sale at the Kissimmee sale was a no sale at $170,000...... Really? In this environment, who wouldn't take $170K. The problem with auctions is that it is legal for the auctioneer to bid the car up to the reserve, so in my opinion you have to take auction results with a grain of salt. I'm not sure you can even trust sales results....... Lots of smoke and mirrors

I'll second that... Really?

This thread alone is why I have almost no interest in buying a 2017 + NSX. Even in a booming economic bubble, these cars are worthless. Imagine how little they will be worth if we have to sit through a crash anytime soon.

And that is why I leased mine. $1800/mo and 10kmi/year for a $206,300MSRP is a steal. I'll know this Friday what Acura is going to offer me on taking the car back.

i called the dealership about that car, spoke to MGR about it, when i asked the price for this 2017 car with 5 miles he said 201k and then he told me it was at the mecum auction but he could try to pull it...i laughed and said "no, what's the realistic price you're selling this 2 yr old car for"...he said, 201k because it has everything and since they were going to stop making these in 2 yrs, it's going to be valuable!! i laughed and laughed and offended him, i'm sure....I told him good luck with that!! bye! smoke and mirrors yes! they should have taken 170k !!!!

The dealer's attitude explains why they still have the car after 2 years, and are likely never to sell the car if they fail to understand the reality of where the car is pricewise they will have it for a long time.

Wow. I mean...just, wow...SMH.

This is why we are looking to bring in used NSX's. Especially in the smaller markets the new one's flat out down't sell unless there are significant incentives. I would hate to be the one stuck with a new 2017 still. That's why we unloaded both of ours before the initial $30k went away. I would feel bad for the dealer but it sounds like it is their own fault they still have it so I won't feel bad in the slightest.

That reminds me of when I was actually on the waiting list for the car. Had a paid deposit that sat since 2012, and when it came time to order they would not tell me how much the car would be. I said, "No way am I ordering a car without knowing how much it is. How can you not even give me a ballpark," and the guy said it was because the dealership owner was not sure if he was going to sell it for $50,000 or $100,000 over sticker. I laughed and said, "I'm not your guy then. That car will sit forever. Please refund my deposit". The guy was pretty arrogant and insisted that they had, "....a dozen people lined up willing to pay that much...". needless to say, that car sat....and sat....and sat. Even after 6 months they were trying to tell me that their pricing would happen. Dealers sometimes must huff too much of their own hot air.
