NSX info for everyone

I read the other thread where people were talking about the discounts they received and I feel that most of them were spot on besides the claim of someone getting $65k off. I do not believe this claim unless someone can show me the numbers and proof.

I must have missed that post.? Who got $65k off? I wanted to keep my bragging rights
 
I saw in some post someone claimed $65k. What sid you get? $60,800 was what I got.

I got $60k off so dammit I no longer have bragging rights you beat me by $800. I also got the color I wanted the least. And I finally figured out why I dont want black cars just a few hrs ago but thats a long boring story

EDIT: We found a car we like and the GM straight up offered the $30k off, (sticker is $191k) - how would you guys approach the additional discount or what negotiating strategy do you recommend? How much more is reasonable to get in terms of discount? Is $50k un-reasonable?

The $30k they offered was the incentive I assume. Depends if the car was “exposure”. If yes you can get 10-15% off of MSRP with the reality being 10% and the rest being gravy.

Are you leasing or financing?
 
And if the car is not an “exposure” car the highest you can get is 8% off MSRP realistically. So at that point on that car you would be shooting for $45k incentive and discount.

$174k sticker will do $129k with the $30k. I don’t think they will go much further down but you can try just letting you know this deal if you want an easy transaction. Good guy to deal with. Chicago area car I believe.

$174.5k sticker. $130k with 30k. They will not go down anymore for sure. I lost his cell but you can contact the dealer and ask for Simon. Again you are welcome to try for more but this is rock bottom with them. They are in Modesto, ca. If you are in Cali’s you save on registration and it would be good until may 18 before you have to renew your registration.

The best deals are All gone. I’ve reached out to a few other dealers and heard nothing back, so either bleeding me out or don’t care to sell the car that cheap.

I've talked to Greg. Really nice guy. I am really looking for a white preferably with ELS, Power seats, carbon bbk im game for either unless its a deal. The silver in modesto I was told is sold unless something has changed.

Ok so I have been following the market for a while and I knew this was going to happen. It was simple economics and business errors that created this situation. With that being said here is a bunch of info for everyone and my thoughts.

The NSX was and is not a failure. The car is a success. The MSRP was not the issue. The delay of the launch, forced allocation (too many units produced) and marketing were the “failures”. It took 6 years to get the car right for release and a lot of the hype died down by the time it actually hit. Couple this with forcing dealers to take extra units besides the vehicles that were preordered created excess supply. Especially the dealers in the middle of nowhere that had no place being allocated units for sale because they have/had 0 demand for such a vehicle. To top it all off many of the publications didn’t fully understand the vehicle and gave it undeserving labels.

Anytime you flood any market with too much supply it will have an inverse effect on the price. I believe we have seen the bottom. Funny reading the other thread about where people wonder where the bottom is because it is a lot like a stock forum. People in there bashing the car or saying there is no end in sight yet once the dust settles they will talk about how they just got one and what a great car it is.

This opportunity to get in these cars for the type of money they are right now is something I don’t think we will see again for a long time. Acura has now decided to make the vehicle available on an order only basis. Yes there is some higher priced units still readily available, but the amount of units out there now is at a more manageable level.



If you are planning on leasing a NSX currently which is probably the best course of action here is the key info you need to get the best numbers.

Residual values (months/mileage per year)

36/10k 54%
36/7500 55%
36/5000 56%

24/10k 59%
24/7500 60%
24/5000 61%

Money Factor (MF)

.0018 is the best you can get for Tier 1

There is the ability for up to 30k in downpayment assistance from Acura if you lease or finance for a minimum of 2 years. You can however pay off the vehicle after 6 payments and still retain the $30k credit.

The kicker on the $30k is the way the program works is a little bit of a mystery. I have been fed numerous stories on how it works. The end result is that the $30k is not set at $30k but at a lower number. Basically there is a pot of funds allocated to each dealer based on their NSX sales performance and they can pull or push extra money towards whichever cars they choose to and that number can not exceed $30k.

Many dealers claim that they do not have the ability to do the full $30k anymore because they chose to allocate the funds to other cars that have already sold.

Over the last few months I have contacted over 100 dealers. I spoke with the decision makers of nearly all of them. It took a lot of time to weed through the bs and get to the meat and potatoes.

After going through the process I went through I was able to get some great offers but out of the 100+ offers only 3 came down to numbers I found maximized the potential deal where they offered a good discount off of MSRP, gave the full $30k and agreed to the lowest MF.

$200k car for $140k
$205k car for $146k
$178k car for $127k

The max here being the $200k car. It was a 15% discount off of MSRP followed by the full $30k incentive pushed it to a full 30% discount off the MSRP (in theory).

I definitely agree with your numbers especially in the 200k to 205k range the $178k car for $127k is an extreme and would have to be a "exposure" car as you stated but they can definitely do those other numbers or come within 5k to 7k on the 200k cars.

Yep that $65k off deal never happened and made people think they could get way more off than was possible. I was told by someone in the "business " that it absolutely did not happen not even on a demo. All that person did was prevent sales of cars with that.

They are selling the shit outta these things and if you get anywhere close to these numbers give or take 5k to 7k take it and run you will not get this opportunity again.

Yup. Not much selection left even though there are cars available. There has to be some deals left on somebody of the 200k cars I’d like to think.

They were saying crazy stuff. I don’t think they have the full 30k so they said 169k was the deal price all in.

In my book that is not exposure/ demo, but a USED NSX :eek: and I would hope they are realistic in selling the car....JM2C..I could be wrong

I had posted a question on their other NSX listed on ebay about whether the 30k was available because it had been in the showroom a long time and seemed like an exposure unit. They wrote back saying that one isn't but this one is. I am still waiting for them to explain how 2800 miles is considered exposure......
 
so today I found one locally. 205000 msrp for 155. If the trade numbers work, I'll probably get it in the next couple days. 1000 miles on it.

IMO i would get a NEW one for 55 off. one with miles should have a deeper discount
 
I'm working a potential NSX deal with some carbon fiber goodies, carbon fiber brakes, list at $181,900.00. Lease offer is 5 grand due at signing. $1500 per month 36 months, 5000 miles per year, .0018 money factor. Buy out at 101k at the end. Cash price to finance is $137,000.00. $44,900 off msrp. Never titled. 6 miles on the clock.

Interesting to upgrade to 7500 miles lease its only $60 more per month.

Is this a good deal or can I work it better???? I'm dealing with the GM of a dealership.
 
I found a dealer that would do 132k for 169k car. Its roughly 4.5% off msrp and 30k incentive. Not an exposure car either. Think I can squeeze out another 1.5% off MSRP? Im hoping so.
 
No clue. I was told the incentive is only valid if it is there for 6 payments. Let me know what you find out. I don’t think it would be a prepayment penalty as opposed to a stipulation for you to keep the $30k they are giving you.

Finally got my loan paperwork and called Acura Finance. There is no loss of down payment assistance so I paid mine off today.
 
I was told after 1 payment, wait for a second invoice just to be certain. Dealers are just worried about charge backs. I'm working on a nice deal right now...This dealer just asked for 3 payments. Hopefully closing the deal in next couple days.

There is room the question is what will the dealer do. Try for more. The problem now is the same as with anything. Weeks ago no calls on the cars and now they have numerous people calling every day.
