NSX Video findings

This video is from a firm that imports JDM vehicles to Canada and the US.
He performs a detailed inspection/narrative and posts it on Youtub after auction (purchase) but before he sends the vehicle away. I've been following him for a while because I was looking to import a Mitsubishi Delica- it's a great way to see many interesting cars up close and personal.

This particular NSX is a 1991 USDM one that was imported to Japan and is now being sent back to the US. Seems that Derek is just as in love with the NSX as us owners are... impressive considering how many vehicles he has opurtunity to see on a regular basis!

He mentions in the video that he has exported 2 NSXs to the same customer... is this anyone on Prime?

His description comes up somewhat short. I think the entire body (at least the roof, the trunk lid, and the front spoiler) has been repainted, not just one panel. The interior does not match is condition description. No huge deal, but I was expecting a more "expert" review.

Agree. I didn't spot the roof, but thought the front bumper/spoiler looked resprayed, and maybe the rear valence- hard to tell with the low light and angle of the sun, and plus I'm no expert.

The interior is pretty rough even though it is a '91. I know my interior is in way, way better shape and it is of the same vintage. He is in the car business, so you would expect a more accurate all-round asessment. Perhaps as NSX owners our scale for measuring these things is more stringent?

After another viewing he definitely has the "oooh, an NSX!!" excitement. So the aura of the NSX may be clouding his report.

PS- It reallllly makes me cringe when someone slams the engine glass like that. Am I the only one?

Nice video. Nice to see something fresh. But what is he talking about with the steering. There's no assist at the speed he is going it is just manual. What he is sensing is a difference in suspension and tires to the NA1R.

Browsing youtube this morning and I found this. Has an Imola Orange NSX in this one. Maybe Arista5's NSX?

Actually, that's my NSX. The previous owner belonged to Capital Super Cars car club. There are a couple other videos with it out there as well. Thanks for sharing, it's been a few years since I've seen it.

Edit: Sorry this was an old post that I accidentally found. But it's a good video anyway.

Looks like Kyushu-danji NSX has gone from NA setup with the ITB to a boosted setup with turbochargers and wow it looks fast.

It retained the ITB's when it went FI.

I would love to know more about this car. When was it featured?

Scammy posted the features.

Here is the 54.1 lap at Tsukuba. I have a couple of good friends that cover Time Attack in Japan, and they say that the car still has quite a bit left in it. The 54.1 is blisteringly fast though. It is the fastest NSX, and I believe the 6th fastest car at Tsukuba after Under Suzuki, Top Fuel, Revolution FD, Cyber Evo, and HKS Evo. I look forward to seeing how much faster it can go.

It's far from the best car show and the host is cornier than free popcorn day at a movie theater, but watching it weekly is one my guiltiest pleasures.

Gotta love the black driving gloves and action shot of inserting a cassette.

I can't believe how much I wanted a Firebird, v6 Fiero, or Vette back in '86, dreaming about them during 11th grade library period.
