Curious if anyone is using one of these bluetooth OBDII interfaces with your phone. They run about $26 bucks shipped on eBay. According to the website, these aren't the best made units..

Android has an application called Torque in the marketplace and it's free. The paid version has some extra features.

At the very least, it's an inexpensive OBDII code reader.

Here's a review of the free app.

I have used it with my laptop and it actually works pretty well. The supplied programs are pretty worthless except for reading the codes. Currently, I use it with my laptop and digimoto software which allows me to look at things like intake temp, throttle position, fuel trims, etc. Never used it with my iphone, can't find software.

I just got my OBDII bluetooth reader today. It took me about 2 mins to pair and get it working. Just unbelievable how easy this was and all the data I can get from the sensors in the car. It used to be that you had to spend more than $100 for an OBDII reader with some archaic display. Now I have my choices of gauges, it can take advantage of my GPS to pull things like altitude and distance. All from my mobile phone. Wow...

Which software are you using that allows you to use your mobile phone? I don't think that my iphone will pair.

I have that free Torque app for Android, I have a Samsung Captivate.

I did a quick search and iPhone has an app called Rev that looks pretty nice. You probably already know this but you just pair to the CBT device using pin 1234.

**EDIT*** I'm not sure if that app works with this OBDII device..

I've been having a bit 'o fun with the Dash App (no affillation).

It monitors basic OBD, logs miles and gives a nice history of your driving style* Pretty neat. It works with whatever OBDII transponder in your car...from the cool one Larry has to the $3 ones cheap bastards like me use.

Pretty Neat.

*Which means they have your information too. FYI.
