Paint Defects??

Has anyone heard of defects in the early black cars paint...I was told that some had small 'cresent ' shaped marks in the paint..Pete W

Your friend knows his stuff, however they are neither "crescents" nor defects.
Look carefully, the little marks look like Elvis faces. The Honda engineers loved Elvis and these special black cars are a tribute to him.

Pete has e-mailed me privately about this problem and I feel foolish for being a glib wise guy. Far as I know there were no factory defects resulting on crescent shaped marks in the paint of early NSX's. The condition is most likely damage to the paint while in service or a bad repaint.
