poor sucker just bought previously flooded nsx with 200K+ miles! JH4NA1155NT000387

Yeah, I'd give 15K and just DD the crap out of it! :)

There are a lot of people that have no idea about Prime! So he may not be a sucker - just not educated. Then again he might have known exactly what he was getting into.... we don't have a corner on the market for buying savy! There is life before and after Prime but mine has surely been better because of it! This site can save the unwary a ton of trouble! You have to dig out your education sometimes....

Who ever bought it I am sure knows what is this, and what is he getting into, did you know Ebay has the free VIN check right? like carfax, but is called "AUTOCHECK" ....

Kind of rude calling the dude a sucker. He may not know what he is getting into, or maybe he is buying it to turn it around.

I can't believe they didn't check the vin on here first! this car was for sale on here in 06 with 150k miles and he sold it with 80k on ebay!

Wow...even the eBay report clearly shows:

2/99 - 77K miles
12/99 - 90K miles
(I can imagine it hitting 150K miles by 2006...that's only 10K miles per year)

but then...
10/07 - 65K miles (!!!)

The roll-back was reported at an auction run-through. Hmmm...auction flippers rolling back mileage & doctoring paperwork? Gosh-gee, I've NEVER heard of THAT happening!

then...
6/11 - 79K miles

The seller may have been duped, picked it up cheap, apparently, from the close-up pics, already went & dogged it hard, now he's ditching it before it hands him a major repair bill.

Yeah, I would not have touched that one either. You'd THINK that the eBay site would have picked up on the mileage roll-back issue and prevented the seller from listing the miles as 80K or something...I dunno...

Worst part:

Junk: The vehicle’s parts have been salvaged for reuse and the remainder of the vehicle has been destroyed or scrapped. This vehicle has been declared a total loss, is not road worthy and should not be titled again for use on the road.

I'll take an NSX in any condition for the right price, he's not a sucker just an addition to the elite NSX club

They could also use this as a track car no? Would you rather people buy low mileage garage queens to strip out and modify as a track only NSX?

In all serious we don't know who bought the car and for what purpose so no need to call the guy a sucker. For a car with iffy history 16.9K isn't a bad price.

I totally agree with you.

I think most posters approached this with the normal mind-set of "find & buy a NICE example" (like I did)...and this one clearly has odometer tampering, flood damage, salvage title, junk designation, etc....

But sure, if you're gonna track it, part it out, etc... (we don't know), then he did decent.

Let's just make sure it doesn't show up on here again, with even LESS miles on it.

It could have been a shill bid that was placed just to get some action on the listing. I'm sure we'll see it listed again in a few days.

I was actually emailing the seller of this car over the past few weeks. And I was skeptical because he was dodging my emails and inquiries. Just kept telling me car drives straight and is perfect and that the only issue is the AC compressor. I'm sure it needed plenty more maintenance too. Wouldn't answer my emails about the title.

I had no idea there was a rollback involved. History I'm ok with, but this seems pretty severe. But I'm glad I stuck to my gut and let this one go by. Maybe 15 or 16k would've been decent.

That's a very good point.

Take a salvaged NSX or any car for that matter for track usage.

How do you track a car with 200k miles? The owner who sold the car told me first the car is not salvage. Then he told me milage is correct. Only thanks to prime did I find out the true story with the car. Without prime I would have been the sucker myself cause I was about to buy it.

Not a bad DD for $16,900. At least you wouldn't have to worry about it parked in the street. I bet it still attracts attention.

You might even be able to part it out and still walk away ahead. Or drive the hell out of it for 5 years and sell it for $15K (if it still runs).

This is a great deal for this price if you ask me. I wouldn't pay more for one with same miles (assuming it's close to 200K). Needs a little love and it can make a great track car or a weekend cruiser.

You can smear this car in hummus and it will still get a boatload of attention!

At first glance it looks kinda scary....

But, we all have absolutely no idea what this individuals plans are with the car, (parting it out, gutting it, tracking it, etc...)

Hope it lasts, that's all!

I agree with you, I'm sure it could be sold locally for that price even after years of enjoyment.
