Problem Starting

anybody's help is appreciated.

here's what happens:

on ocassion, after turning the key, the engine doesnt turn over or attempt to turn. loud clicking sound goes off....the sound duration varies from short too long

If I move the car's position, it turns over with no problem

Sounds like I have a problem with my starter.

Clicking sounds indicate the following:
Poor battery connections
Poor battery
Dirty ignition switch

When you "move cars position", is that IN GEAR or in neutral? Does your starter sound like a power drill gone mad?

If so, and in gear, your flywheel ring gear is unhappy.
