As I continue to dump money into the NSX, I was encouraged to document it a little better (and all in one place)... so here is my attempt at a build thread.

When I picked her up July 2010, this is how she looked! By in large, I was happy with the previous owners' mods. But there were a few things that NEEDED to be changed.

- Vis Racing OEM style carbon fiber hood and trunk
- NSX-R spoiler
- 2005 full front end conversion (OEM parts)
- 2005 tailights
- wings west side skirts and spats
- Science of Speed engine cover
- k&n filter
- Comptech headers
- Comptech short shifter
- h&r springs
- Double din DVD player
- Momo 'Jet' steering wheel with quick release hub
- Reupholstered alcantara interior
- 18"/19" Work LS105's painted matte black with white lip

Where do I start. Youtube. When I first bought my NSX the first thing I knew I had to change was the exhaust. As nice as the car was… the exhaust was far to quiet and reminded me of my old Civic. I bought my car with Comptech headers so I'm sure its louder then stock... but just not loud enough !! With the NSX looking like a race car… it sure as hell better sound like one too!

Insert youtube, nsxprime and streetfire. Searching sound clips and reviews I was beginning to lose hope. The GT-1 sounded raspy, it’s rare, and to damn expensive. The TaiTec GT-009 sounded amazing… but single tip?? Really?! Comptech sounded far to Mustang-esque and not enough Ferrari-esque. AP-X V1.0… awesome. Wait, who the hell is AP-X? Angus? Wil? A magician?

Being that Wil was practically my neighbor, I managed to meet up with him on a little vacation in Vancouver. He took me for a little spin in a AP-X equipped NSX and I was sold. Scrounging the funds together I came across a gently used AP-X setup and began my search for exhaust adaptors. That’s when the magician Wil, did it again. OBDII resonated test pipes that do not require adaptor pipes and still made my CEL happy. Yes please!

The communication with Wil was bar-none. The customer service was exceptional. The workmanship on both the exhaust and test pipes is simply amazing. Install was simple and straightforward with tons of adjustability. And turning the car over for the first time this spring was jaw dropping. The engine sparked to life with a nice little grumble. Even at idle the car sounds like it looks… badass. The car screams when you want it too… purrs when you need it too. There seems to be a very slight drone at 2200-2500 RPM (But lets be true to ourselves… what NSX owner drives at 2200 RPM, and even if they do, the magician has already come up with the solution).

Unfortunately I only have one video worth posting (for now) as I don’t want to kill the amazing sound with a shotty cell phone video. So forgive my rambling and enjoy a couple pics and a video

With the exhaust bolted up early spring I was excited to hit the streets and enjoy some drive time… one month into the season I became acquainted with a paving stone which resulted in my car sitting on jack stands for 2 months. (Much thanks to a local primer for a loaner wheel)

Spending more money on tires, brakes, refinishing my wheels I was stoked to be back on the road again.

There isn't a better way to start a new car season than a car show and a night at the track!

I'm on the left with a humble 13.800 second 1/4 mile. For my first time at the track, I was content with the number :p

I have always wondered what QPDO (acronym?) is?

QPDO = Cupido = Last name :cool::cool:

Just got her tinted (35%) and installed my NSXClear corners this weekend!

I see that I'm not the only who has problems with helmet in car.
New wheels look better than old one only put some spacers it would look even better.

Downfalls of being 6'7"!

Thanks, but I'll hold off on the spacers. Roads here are shit and fenders are far too expensive

Car looks great. I like the new version much better than the old!!

looking hot thus far. looking forward to the rest of the build.

i think you had mentioned before but does your 18 inch vs xx R (big brake) disk spokes bulge out beyond the front lip?
did you buy your wheels brand new?

im going to check if my older 17 inch R disc vs xx does the same.

your car looks clean; and i must admit the cf trunk + hood + front lip paint scheme is growing on me having seen this latest round of pictures.

Looking on pics you can go for 10-15mm spacers without any problems of damage your fenders.
Especially with your new suspension.
I like look of wheels out to line fender edge, car looks wider.

How do you like your RB brake conversion?

By the way, I love how the lighter colored cars show off the nuances of NSX design that get lost in the darker colors...

Your ride is a standout!!

+1 black is beautiful when clean but you dont see the beautiful lines of the nsx as easily as lighter colored vehicles.

Yes, the fronts are 18x7.5+40 R-disks. The spokes DO stick out past the lips which is kinda why I was looking into 18x8+38 A-disks. I bought the wheels and suspension gently used off a fellow Primer... a deal I couldn't pass up!

What can I say... still a ricer at heart with my CF bits and bobs

Wider is awesome but I scared myself a year back with a slight rim to fender tap... so I dare not push the boundaries of fitment!

Absolutely zero complaints. They are a solid setup if you want to upgrade from OEM but see no requirement for the costly BBK upgrade.

Good job! The only thing I'm not too particularly fond of is the dark hood/roof/trunk.

Yaaaa... It's not necessarily for everyone, but I like it! :D

car is clean, white nsx is the only way to go imo haha... what brand spoiler did you go with?

Good look on the 02 rear valance and the gold vs-xx (i had the same ones on my bros white is250 and gold rims lol)...

Personally, car would look better with the oem white trunk or paint the cf to match the body if it weighs less

Great thread. I believe it's the first time I've seen an NSX camping photo. :)

You'd be surprised what can fit in the trunk of the NSX when you play tetris with your supplies!

1x tent
2x sleeping bags
2x mattress
2x chairs
2x backpacks
1x lantern
1x axe
1x case of beer

Why? Because racecar.

Car looks great. I have a 25mm H&R spacer if you want to try a quick mock up of what it would look like. Might push your wheels past the fenders and you don't want to be one of those guys.

yeah strange! i just checked mine in the garage and my 17s dont. i'm not sure if thats a design thing re the 18s. mine while do bend outward to not get close to pushing past the lip....

you could always refinish the wheels black if u get tired of the gold and would make the spokes sticking out less noticable...

Thanks Adam.

As it sits, the rears are 18x10+38... so the 25mm spacer would be hellafail lol. I do have extended lugs in the rear due to spacing out my old wheels, but I'm pretty happy with how she sits for now.

On my way to a car show... Had some fun with painters tape and duck tape on top.
