thats pretty nice looking dude,
how ever did you make the mold, custom goodness?

Wow that looks really nice. Are you considering selling them?

looks similiar to the one off the type r nsx

It's of aluminium and then painted black.
The 5 fins are welded to the body of the diffuser.
The diffuser fit only the new Rear Valance (02+).
To fix it at the rear end, the two outer mounting points of rear valance are used.
At the front end it is bolt on to the chassiframe.
Next step is to close the gap between the diffuser sidewall and the side of the rear valance.
After that i will try to find somebody who can build it in carbon

Wow, what a great design. Did you design it yourself?

Put me on want list if can be produced at a reasonable fee.

THX, yes , I designed it myself.
I don't know if it realy works as a diffuser (creating downforce).
My intension was to design a diffuser similiar to the one on the typ R showcar
but also keeping in mind the desing of rear valance.
Thats the reason mine has 5 instaed of 4 fins.

That does look real nice. Do you have any problems with the rear end dragging or catching on anything? It looks kind of low.

I'd like to see something like this to replace the rear diffuser on the 91-01 cars, something with fins like this one but not below what is currently there, but to replace it completely. It could be a cross between the F430 diffuser and what is in this thread. Make it out of carbon fiber and I be you'd sell a boatload.

THX. I couldn't drive the car very much since I installed the diffuser.
The same evening it start to rain ,and it still does.
It is not lower then the frontlip or the underbody.
But I admit ,I have to pay more attention.
Maybe I have to redesigne the fins, but for the moment I have to make my own experience driving the car and see what happens.

OK.. here a small update.
I'v almost completed one side of the cover below the rear valance.
Still need some adjustment and maybe a black painting of the fence.
What do you think about this solution to close the gap between the rear valance and the diffuser.

I like it...when? and how much?

When ?!?!
Next spring.

How much ?!?!
No idea. Depend from the manufactor.
This parts are all handmade prototype.
I want let them build in CF (diffuser, cover and supportframe) , so it will depend on how difficult it is to fabricate the mold and certainly the quantity

I have to stop the project for the moment, cause it's Fu.... cold and i have no radiator in my garage.

Indeed this has the potential of looking better than the OEM Type R diffuser.

What if you reshaped the 90 degree angle more along the lines of the Type R but still with the 5 fins; i.e., making it more subtle? You might not need the side pieces and I don't think the side pieces add to the aesthetic. Curving the fins may also minimize any potential dragging or catching. Here is a rough rendition of the potential.

It is very difficult to do that in aluminium. I agree it would look better curving the fins. I think i will do that, when the diffuser will be built in CF.The side pieces are intended to hide the turbo and intercooler.

how thick are the fins? they appear rather heavy. if i had my druthers a thinner fin would be ideal

my2cents

The Whole diffuser is made of 1,5 mm aluminium, also the fins.
A thinner fin dont match the design of the rear valance.
It maybe appear heavy, but it weigh not more then 5 lbs. (unpainted)
